The Ducks (4-0, 1-0 Pac-10) also moved up one position in the USA Today Top 25, coming in at No. 12.
Oregon's next opponent, California (4-0, 1-0) remained at No. 6 in the AP and climbed two spots in to sixth in the USA Today rankings. Read Full Article

(GREEN BAY, Wis. ) - Brett Favre goes out of his way to say he cares about winning, not going after records.
He managed to do both at the same time on Sunday.
Favre found Greg Jennings on a slant pattern for the record-tying 420th touchdown pass of his career. The 57-yard completion erased a four-point deficit to the San Diego Chargers with just over two minutes left and rallied the undefeated Packers (3-0) to a 31-24 win.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - The University of Portland women’s soccer team, tired of squeaking out one goal wins, made a statement with a 7-0 victory over Portland State Sunday afternoon before 2,951 fans at Merlo Field.
The Pilots, fresh off the news that they will be without injured stars Rachael and Megan Rapinoe for the rest of the season, put up their highest goal total in over a year and held the Vikings to just one shot in the match.
Sophomore Kendra Chandhoke and freshman Elli Reed each tallied two goals for the Pilots (7-1-0), who pushed their winning streak to four, all by way of shutout. Read Full Article

(DALLAS) - Drag racing's biggest star, 14-time NHRA POWERade champion John Force, suffered a left broken ankle and wrist in a nasty top-end collision Sunday with fellow NHRA legend Kenny Bernstein in the second round of eliminations at the O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals at Texas Motorplex outside of Dallas.
Force was airlifted to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas for treatment.
Their Funny Cars got together just after they crossed the finish line. The numbers, although unofficial, showed Force crossing with a 4.863 at 315.34 mph to Bernstein's 4.904 at 312.06 mph.

In the end, the fans also got to see Carl Edwards take a backflip off the roof of his car after picking up his third win of 2007 and his first NASCAR NEXTEL Cup win at Dover.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - After losing a heartbreaking match less than 24 hours before, the Oregon volleyball team responded with a commanding three-game sweep (30-24, 30-24, 30-22) of Washington State on Saturday evening at McArthur Court.
After a five-game thriller in their Pacific-10 opener against No. 8 Washington, the 24th-ranked Ducks evened their Pac-10 record at 1-1 by dispatching the Cougars (9-7, 0-2).
Led by sophomore Sonja Newcombe’s match-high 15 kills, Oregon hit .234 on the night and improved to 12-2 overall, and 7-1 at Mac Court. Read Full Article
