McMINNVILLE, Ore. - An Amber Calcagno goal in the 71st minute, lifted Linfield to a 1-0 over Lewis & Clark, in a Northwest Conference match at the Linfield soccer field Saturday.

After being held scoreless and locked in a 0-0 tie, Kate Franklin found Calcagno on a cross, allowing the junior midfielder to head it into the back of the net past Lewis & Clark goalkeeper Nora Germano.

The Wildcats were unable to get any offense going in the first half, even while attempting 19 shots.

Linfield would finish the game with a 25-9 shot advantage.

Part of the reason the Wildcats weren’t able to get a score until Calcagno’s late-game goal, was due to the work of Germano.

She finished with 15 saves on the afternoon.
