Corban Rallies to Defeat Western Oregon, 2-1

With the win, Corban improves to 5-6-0 overall, while Western Oregon drops to 0-8-2 overall.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Megan WaunchSenior Megan Waunch, who is the reigning conference and regional Offensive Player of the Week, scored the game-winning goal in Corban's women's soccer team's 2-1 victory over NCAA Division II member Western Oregon on Tuesday at Sparks Field.

Less than twelve hours after being named Player of the Week, Waunch had a hand in both of Corban's goals Tuesday night on the campus of Willamette University.

NASCAR Dings Edwards 25 Points for Dover Infraction

The No. 99 Ford driven by Edwards was found to be too low in the right rear area.

(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.) - Carl EdwardsCarl Edwards, winner of Sunday's Nextel Cup Series race at Dover International Speedway, has been penalized 25 driver championship points due to rule violations found in post-race inspection.

The loss of points dropped Edwards from third in the Chase standings to sixth, 28 points behind leader Jeff Gordon.

In addition, those infractions have resulted in a $25,000 fine for Edwards' crew chief Bob Osborne, plus a penalty of 25 car owner championship points for Roush Fenway Racing.

Alexander rushed for 100 yards on 21 carries Sunday against the Bengals.

(SEATTLE) - Shaun Alexander Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander has a broken left wrist, but will continue to play with a protective cast, coach Mike Holmgren said Monday.

Alexander has been playing with the cast on his wrist since spraining it in the team's opening victory against Tampa Bay.

Mary Ayotte-Law to be Inducted in Oregon Sports Hall of Fame

Ayotte-Law continues to work as a vital part of the Oregon State Gymnastics program as the home meet manager.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Mary Ayotte LawFormer Oregon State gymnast Mary Ayotte-Law is set to be inducted to the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame on Tuesday.

A three-time All-American, Ayotte-Law became OSU’s second gymnast to win a national championship with her floor exercise title in 1982.

An outstanding overall gymnast, she also earned All-America status in 1981 on the balance beam.

Oregon to Host ESPN's College GameDay

Kickoff for the football game, which will be televised regionally by ABC on ESPN, will be 12:30 p.m. (PDT).

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Ducks Jaison WilliamsESPN College GameDay has confirmed it will produce its weekly college football preview show from the University of Oregon Saturday morning preceding the Ducks’ home game vs. No. 6 California.

The premier college football pre-game show, which has aired weekly on ESPN since its inception in 1989, features hosts Chris Fowler, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit, and will air live from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. (PDT).

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Oregon Dennis DixonFor the second time this season, quarterback Dennis Dixon has been named the Pac-10's offensive Player of the Week.

Dixon accounted for career-highs of five touchdowns (4 pass, 1 rush), 367 passing yards and 27 completions in leading Oregon to a 55-31 road win against Stanford this past Saturday.

Willamette and Whitman Battle to 0-0 Tie

Kelli Gano plays all 110 minutes in goal to earn shutout for Bearcats.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - willamette soccer Willamette University and Whitman College battled for 110 minutes, but neither team could produce a goal, as the Bearcats and the Missionaries tied 0-0 in two overtimes, during a Northwest Conference women's soccer game at Sparks Field on Sunday.

Kelli Gano of Willamette and Courtney Porter of Whitman registered the shutouts.

Willamette's record moved to 1-4-1 on the season, including 0-3-1 in the NWC. Whitman's record became 3-3-2 overall, 2-1-1 in the NWC.

Oregon State Student Ticket Distribution Begins Monday

Approximately 6,000 tickets will be allocated for each game.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - oregon state footballOregon State student ticket distribution begins Monday at 7:30 a.m. for the Pacific-10 Conference home opener against UCLA.

Students should note that ticket distribution will begin at 7:30 a.m. only on Monday’s of distribution week. The remainder of the week will have a normal starting time of 8:30 a.m.

To be eligible for football tickets, students must be enrolled at OSU during the fall 2007 term or dual enrolled at OSU and LBCC and have paid all incidental fees.
