Vikings Remain Undefeated in Big Sky Play

Portland State is tied with Sacramento State for the lead in the Big Sky.

BOZEMAN, Mont. - Portland State (10-4, 4-0) volleyball swept Big Sky foe Montana State (1-14, 0-4) 30-22, 30-20, 30-23.

The Vikings have won their past five matches, the longest winning streak of the season.

Portland State is tied with Sacramento State for the lead in the Big Sky.

Saturday's win extended Portland State's Big Sky regular season winning streak to a school-record 10 matches.

It is only the second time in school history that Portland State has started conference play 4-0, since joining the Big Sky in 1996.

The Vikings totaled 46 kills and 124 total attacks (.226).

Senior Michelle Segun had the match high of 11 kills and seven total blocks.

It is Segun’s seventh straight 10+ kill performance. Segun hit .320 on the match.

Sophomore outside hitter Marija Vojnovic had her third consecutive double-double and ninth of the season with 10 kills and 10 digs.

Her 10 kills tied for the match’s second highest kill total.

Vojnovic also tied her career-high of three total blocks on the match.

She had a .139 hitting percentage against the Bobcats.

After setting a new career-high on her birthday Thursday, sophomore setter Dominique Fradella came back set another with nine kills.

Fradella hit .571. She also had 30 assists and four block assists.

Junior defensive specialist Jacqueline Thomas tied Montana State’s Patti Anderson for the match-high of 15 digs. Thomas also had three assists and an ace.

Portland State will look to extend its’ school-record 17-match home Big Sky winning streak as they compete against Northern Arizona (Thurs. 27, 7:00) and Northern Colorado (Sat. 29, 7:00) at the Stott Center.
