No. 2 Tigers Blitz No. 12 South Carolina, 28-16

South Carolina had one more rushing yard (17) than points.

(BATON ROUGE, La.) - Trindon HollidayTropical depression rain switched between heavy and light all afternoon in Tiger Stadium and soaked all 92,530 in the stands.

But, third largest crowd in Tiger Stadium history was anything but depressed by the weather or the result as No. 2 LSU smothered 12th-ranked South Carolina long enough to come away with a 28-16 win.

The win improved LSU’s record to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the ever-toughening Southeastern Conference while South Carolina suffered its first loss of the season, dropping to 3-1 and 1-1 in the SEC.

Sick Hamlin Wins Busch Series Race at Dover

The race was the slowest in Dover's Busch Series history with an average speed of just 85.198 mph, slowed by a record-tying 13 cautions.

(DOVER, Del.) - Denny HamlinDenny Hamlin almost didn't even start Saturday's RoadLoans.com 200 NASCAR Busch Series race at Dover International Speedway.

He wasn't feeling well, and took some IV fluids from the infield care center before the race. In fact, it got to the point where Kyle Busch was summoned from whatever he was doing to see if he might fit into Hamlin's car.

As it turned out, Hamlin decided to give it a go. And what a go he gave it, winning the race on a sunny Saturday afternoon - although he probably wouldn't have minded it going a little more quickly.

Unbeated Seattle Pacific Tops Wolves, 4-2

Western Oregon dropped to 0-7-2 on the year and 0-4 in conference play.

(MONMOUTH, Ore. ) - Kristen WerhaneSeattle Pacific scored just three minutes and 30 seconds into the contest, but still had to survive a pair of Western Oregon goals to claim a 4-2 women's soccer victory on Saturday afternoon at the WOU Soccer Field.

The victory allowed the Falcons, ranked No. 6 nationally and No. 1 in the west region, to remain unbeaten on the season at 10-0 and 4-0 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Tebow's Big Day Propels No. 3 Florida Over Ole Miss

Tebow led the way for Florida’s fourth 500-yard offensive outburst in as many games this year, rushing for a career-high 166 yards and accounting for four touchdowns.

(OXFORD, Miss.) - Florida Tim TebowSophomore Tim Tebow accounted for 427 yards of total offense highlighted by a quarterback school-record 166 yards rushing as the third-ranked Florida football team improved to 4-0 with a 30-24 victory against Ole Miss Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Tebow rushed for two touchdowns and threw for 261 yards and two scores.

The Gator defense was stout against the run, yielding 80 yards of net rushing and holding Ole Miss running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis to 37 yards on 11 carries, well below his season average of 4.8 yards per carry.

No. 24 Nebraska Rallies to Beat Ball State, 41-40

Ball State quarterback Nate Davis proved tough to contain, as he threw for 422 yards and three touchdowns while rushing six times for 57 yards and another score.

(LINCOLN, Neb.) - Nebraska football photoOn a record-setting day at Memorial Stadium, Sam Keller, Marlon Lucky and the Nebraska offense rolled up 552 yards to power the Huskers to a 41-40 victory over visiting Ball State Saturday afternoon.

Keller finished the game by completing 29-of-37 passes for three touchdowns and a school-record 438 yards.

On Nebraska's final drive, Keller completed 7-of-7 passes for 78 yards, including the record-setting 11-yard touchdown strike to Purify.

No. 18 Louisville Shocked at Home by Syracuse, 38-35

Andrew Robinson's 423 yards passing were just two shy of the school record set by Marvin Graves against Rutgers in 1992.

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) - Syracuse Andrew Robinson Sophomore quarterback Andrew Robinson threw for a career-best 423 yards, completing 17-of-26 passes and four touchdowns as the Syracuse Orange took a 38-35 victory from the 18th-ranked Louisville Cardinals in the BIG EAST opener for both squads.

The Orange offense racked up 474 yards and had scoring plays of 79 yards, 42 yards, 60 yards and 12 yards.

Syracuse’s special team returned a kick 93 yards for Syracuse’s other touchdown and SU’s defense forced four turnovers.

Western Oregon Men and Women Win SMU Invite

The WOU women clipped the SPU B squad as well (35-51), with Tricia Morrison's second-place finish leading the way.

(LACEY, Wash.) - wou sports logoWestern Oregon's men and women made it a team sweep at the Saint Martin's Invitational, taking team crowns on both sides on Saturday morning on the SMU campus in Lacey.

The WOU men topped Seattle Pacific and five other squads to win with 25 points, while the women also edged the second-place Falcons and a field of five with a 35-point total.

Nik Karr finished in second place overall for the men on the eight kilometer course behind SMU's John Riak.

IT'S GAME DAY! Southern Oregon (1-2) @ Willamette (1-2)

Willamette’s beat California Lutheran 14-7 last Saturday in Salem, giving the Bearcats their first win of the season.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - willamette sports logoThe Southern Oregon football team will be back in action Saturday night when they travel to Salem to face the NCAA Division III Bearcats of Willamette University.

The game will be the fourth of nine on the season for the Raiders (1-2) as well as their third road game of 2007.

The Raiders should fare well against the Bearcats (1-2) after taking a week and gaining some recovery time after their 37-11 loss to Division I-FCS Idaho State two weeks ago.

(TEMPE, Ariz. ) - oregon state footballIt’s been a bit of a house of horrors for Oregon State when it comes to Sun Devil Stadium, except for New Year’s Day 2001 when the Beavers overwhelmed Notre Dame 41-9 in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

Other than that, the Oregon State football program has lost 15 straight in Tempe -- it’s one of the last obstacles that the program has to put behind it in terms of winning on the road.

Of course another headline maker is that ASU’s Dennis Erickson coaches in his first Pac-10 Conference game since he led OSU to a 45-24 win over Oregon Nov. 23, 2002.
