Medical Marijuana Research: U.S. Ardently Supports It

Lies, damned lies and statistics!

Drug Czar Gil Kerlikowske
Drug Czar Gil Kerlikowske

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - This headline will come as a violent surprise to 300 million Americans. This story was prompted by an article by Paul Armenteno of NORML, from a Washington Post exchange by Tennessee Congressman Steven Cohen, who wants the Obama Administration to change cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule II. And Drug Czar Gil Kerlikowske, who responded by stating that the government, "ardently supports medical marijuana research".

I have a suspicion Kerlikowske has been nuzzling up to a bit of Slivovitz, Polish Plum White Lightning Rotgut. Something certainly has screwed up his head. His previous position has been vehemently against anything that even smells like weed or its beneficial effects. His further comment, that "In fact, the federal government is the largest source of funding for medical research into the potential therapeutic benefits of marijuana and every valid request for the use of marijuana for research has been approved by the DEA."

I think that took another hit of the Slivovitz. Obviously in his exalted position, as czar, he has not only no idea what is going on under his czarship; but the totally opposite is occurring.

Armenteno of NORML, states that about 17 million Americans obtain marijuana "on the street". Very little is turned loose by the DEA.

Joyously, I report that the DEA did approve marijuana use for Veterans with PTSD in April 2011. Some 40 years after the Vietnam Vets discovered it useful, but many were thrown in jail or denied medical care by the VA for using medicine which really WORKS!

Another branch of the government, Health and Human Services, is refusing to sell their lousy, third-rate grass for anything medical- or otherwise.

Still another branch, the U.S. National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), which REJECTS ALL medical marijuana research. As of now, only 14 research projects are ongoing, assessing the negative effects of cannabis use.

To state that Kerlikowske speaks with "forked head" is a euphanism. Paul Armenteno's article had 73 derisive responses as of Dec. 1. Check them!

Ardent Support! Hail Slivovitz!

*If* marijuana caused cancer, heart disease or brain damage AND we could stop people using it then the federal marijuana prohibition might possibly be a good thing. But we can't. 6,500 people a DAY in the U.S. start using marijuana for the first time. Because we're incapable of preventing people from buying, selling and using marijuana, the ban on stores selling marijuana to adults causes far more harm than marijuana itself ever could. The Mexican drug cartels make $10 billion a year selling marijuana in the U.S. and brutally murder thousands of people every year in order to protect their market shares and supply routes. It is outrageous to have the federal government ban stores from selling legally-grown marijuana to adults when this ban *doesn't* prevent people from buying, selling and using marijuana, and *does* cause far more harm than what they're trying to prevent.

Ya know? When it ocmes right down to it all, after all of the decades of ongoing research and study's that have been abd stilll are taking place not only here but all around the world, they have al;ready had the actual proof as to jst how really beneficial marijuana realy is medicinaly speaking.Washington knows it,the congress knows it and the senate knows it.They all have sen the many positive proofs showing it ws marijuana that has helped in many medical cses, from types of cancers to chronic pain to glaucom of which marijuana is the onlt thin on the whole planet that can actualy slow down glaucomas progression and in any cases has stopped it completely not to mention can also keeo many who have it like myself from going blind. There are not medicines on the market anywhere in the world that can do these things except for mediinal marijuana. It has alsobeen well proven to help in a vriety of mental disorders and or issues. The facts and all of the proof is there right now and it's all positive, not negative whatsoever.77 percent of all Americans want it to be allowed for medicinal use.77 percent, that's almost the entire populatiion. With that many people wanting to see it made legal for medicinal pruposes I dont see how the govermnet can continue to deny us our right to be allowed to ue it in a responcible way.All we have to do is to make doctors etc to use exreme discretion when prescribing ot to a person.Such as,just because you may nehaving a hard tome sleeping but not always, then thst not qualified for it to be prescibed. As for hronic pain one would have to have and or show the proof from previous medical records, like mine a very serious back injury that is totaly inoperable due to the risk factos involed, this is from 5 diferent neuroseurgons who all said the eaxact same thing after i shoed them my MRI's,sorry but you'r just out of luck.I'v used it and it helps more than the loratab 10's and the morphine does in a very major way,I have less pain and the marijuana effects last longer than the neds do without any after effects as well and bno it is not physically addictive, only mentaly so.We need to t]start coming down really hard on washington and our congress peoples and our senators. The major pharms have ben bribing the congress and the senate as well as handing them huge payoffs all so they will vote no for the major pharms. It's time we took control of our government which is the way it is supos to be,not the other way around

An open letter to Gil Kerlikowske:
Occasionally some unfortunate people end up with a job that makes other people dislike or even hate them; it’s no fun and it's actually not that easy to continue doing something that you know is doing great harm, a full seven days of the week. It must be extremely depressing for you. No doubt it's also very dangerous to your health and must even lead to you feeling extremely insecure - especially when thinking of all those angry citizens who have generally become cheesed off with the serious disruption you've caused to their once productive and peaceful lives.
So what should you do?
Simply, and humbly, hang your head in abject shame. Come clean; admit you have unwittingly become part and parcel of one of the most insidious and counter-productive government policies in the history of mankind. Then start praying that you get to keep those pathetic, shrunken testicles.
