(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Everybody's heard of it, but have they actually been there? If you are an Oregon medical marijuana patient, this Friday is the perfect opportunity for you to see the inside of what has become a rather mythical place. The World Famous Cannabis Cafe' was opened in Portland in 2009, and moved to the present location in 2010. On a daily basis, the cafe serves as a fully functioning community center for OMMP members, offering many complimentary amenities such as a conference room equipped with WiFi, a cannabis library, and a game room. This Friday is special though. April 20th "420" has become an iconic day for pro-cannabis activists around the world, and there are parties-a-plenty being prepared. Portland, endearingly dubbed "Pot-land" by many, is certainly no exception. Portland's World Famous Cannabis Cafe' will be celebrating the 420 High Holiday in high fashion with festivities beginning at 4:20 p.m. “We feel very fortunate to be able to provide a safe haven for Oregon medical cannabis cardholders in light of the recent DEA raid of Oaksterdam. "We appreciate the support we receive in the cannabis community and hope to see it continue with this event,” says Madeline Martinez, cafe' owner. Special musical guests include Patchwork Family and Blue, local artists who support the World Famous Cannabis Café by donating their time and talents. The day will be filled with food, fun, music and speakers, and a raffle for a generously donated Vapor Brothers vaporizer. While at the cafe, you may enjoy medicating at the fabulous vapor bar, featuring the Volcano Vaporizer, "which is always generously supplied with donated medicine of superior quality". Oregon Medical Marijuana Program registration is required to attend, and one-day entry passes are $5.00 for (WFCC) members and $10.00 for non-members. Other activities in different time zones around the world also kick off at 4:20 on 4/20, including a concert by Willie Nelson, and the unveiling of his statue in Texas; the group Los Marijuanos will be at the HIGH TIMES CANNABIS CUP & 420 WEEKEND in Denver; the Kottonmouth Kings will perform in Mt. Clemens, Minnesota, and the list goes on and on. For a more complete roundup, click here. The World Famous Cannabis Cafe is located at 322 SE 82nd Avenue, Portland, OR 97216. SEE YOU THERE!
