Marijuana and Heroin: Two Very Dangerous Drugs! Or Not!

Marijuana has never caused a death, but groups like NIDA keep lumping this herbal medicine in the same group as Heroin, which is deadly.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - I was not surprised to read in The Oregonian newspaper April, 5, 2010, that Oregon had 127 Heroin deaths last year and 119 in 2008.

Oregon, and Portland in particular, seems to be a bit ahead in the Heroin deaths in the U.S. The CDC (Center for Disease Control) indicates that Heroin deaths have averaged about 2000 per year in the U.S. Other sources, at least from around 1995, give figures of about 4,000 per year. However, legal opiates and opioids kill about 10,000 per year. Lets face it folks, Americans are “drug takers” par excellence.

Heroin is known as the most lethal single drug. This may be before “Hillbilly Heroin” – Oxycontin – showed up. It’s a real killer.

Take Me in Your Arms (Miss Heroin)

So now, little man, you've grown tired of grass LSD, goofballs, cocaine and hash, and someone, pretending to be a true friend, said, "I'll introduce you to Miss Heroin." Well honey, before you start fooling with me, just let me inform you of how it will be.

For I will seduce you and make you my slave, I've sent men much stronger than you to their graves. You think you could never become a disgrace, and end up addicted to Poppy seed waste.

So you'll start inhaling me one afternoon, you'll take me into your arms very soon. And once I've entered deep down in your veins, The craving will nearly drive you insane.

You'll swindle your mother and just for a buck. You'll turn into something vile and corrupt. You'll mug and you'll steal for my narcotic charm, and feel contentment when I'm in your arms.

The day, when you realize the monster you've grown, you'll solemnly swear to leave me alone. If you think you've got that mystical knack, then sweetie, just try getting me off your back.

The vomit, the cramps, your gut tied in knots. The jangling nerves screaming for one more shot. The hot chills and cold sweats, withdrawal pains, can only be saved by my little white grains.

There's no other way, and there's no need to look, for deep down inside you know you are hooked. You'll desperately run to the pushers and then, you'll welcome me back to your arms once again.

And you will return just as I foretold! I know that you'll give me your body and soul. You'll give up your morals, your conscience, your heart. And you will be mine until, "Death Do Us Part"

I was the Toxicologist for Portland/Multnomah County from 1951-1953 while I was a Ph.D. grad student at Oregon Medical School. I was the first Ph.D. in pharmacology and toxicology in Oregon.

I’m mentioning this because I was the first toxicologist here to detect and identify Morphine, Heroin’s breakdown product in forensic samples. I investigated several deaths from strychnine-spiked Heroin which causes a horrible death.

As I pointed out in the title, Medical Marijuana: Malignant Misinformation & Federal Foolishness, almost everybody knows that Heroin is very lethally toxic.

The really strange thing is that the pinheads who work for NIDA (the National Institute for Drug Abuse) bleat that marijuana is as dangerous as Heroin and is also a “gateway drug” to Heroin. This is so grotesque it’s pitiful. Both of these drugs produce a “high” or euphoria but the critical matter is that Heroin’s high is frequently lethal{1}.

There is no doubt that heroin addiction is one of the deadliest drug addictions around. There are an estimated 2.4 million Heroin users in the U.S. and the U.S. Government says that there are about 70 million marijuana users.

What is most essential here is although there are about 2000 deaths from Heroin, there is not even ONE from marijuana/cannabis.

Who do you believe?

THANKS AGAIN OREGONIAN!!

we didnt win two world wars to raise a generation of stoners. Speeding doesnt kill either; its coming to a sudden stop which gets you. Neither do Mcdonalds or KFC. Oh, but this one guy on TV said mcdonalds will get you in the long run? maybe that sunshine could do the same research on marijuana. Did he? no. Also, you're only a toxicologist, the NIDA are psychologists, and actually know what they're talking about. You wouldn't ask the weather man for advice on buying shares, so i fail to see why anyone would trust a short-term effects doctor on a long term effects problem. I havent seen anyone die from lack of exercise or obesity. Does that mean it doesnt happen too?

Editor: No, the world wars were fought in one case, simply for attrition, and in another because there was this madman in Germany named Hitler.  Here it is, Doc Leveque fought in that war, so that makes you the most unqualified ass in the world to spout these stupid opinions.  You are a small irritant in the world and Doc Leveque is a great man and a lifesaver.  Go lift your leg on a fire hydrant you pathetic ass.

High grade marijuana don´t kill. Instead, makes you paranoid all the time. THC is fat soluble and takes a long time to get out of the body. I´m tired of feeling sick, can´t eat, paranoia all the time. Many symptoms are similar to heroin like cold sweats, insomnia. The pain in the body of heroin withdrawal is much worse than marijuana but marijuana withdrawal lasts much more. Pure Heroin don´t kill cells in the body and overdoses occur usually (not always) because of unkown dosage of heroin in a street bag or when a normal dose with high tolerance is used when the tolerance is low. People don´t inject heroin, people inject "something" with a low porcentage of heroin. People inject black tar that is a poison, black tar is not heroin, it contains heroin. It destroys your veins, lungs and the rest of your body. Pure heroin is a white powder or a transparent liquid and doesn´t destroy veins or organs but the addiction comes too fast and can destroy you fast too anyway. If you use heroin to get high and like it, you will always want it again. Pure Heroin, pure THC, pure cocaine, pure alcohol are all bad for you, there´s no soft or hard pure drug. Hard drugs are street drugs like crack and street heroin that can be white, tan, brown (pink, yellow sometimes) or black tar (the worst). Heroin is a remedy to be used like a pain killer for fast action and for people who is in the hospital suffering waiting death. Drugs are not for recreational use.
