AMA Calls for Review of Medical Marijuana`s Legal Status

New Policy Marks Historic Shift From Prior Stance.

(HOUSTON, TEXAS) - Salem-News.com House of Delegates today adopted a new policy position calling for the review of marijuana’s status as a Schedule I drug in the federal Controlled Substances Act.

The old language in Policy H-95.952 had previously recommended that “marijuana be retained in Schedule I,” which groups marijuana with drugs such as heroin, LSD and PCP that are deemed to have no accepted medical uses and to be unsafe for use even under medical supervision.

NYC Won`t Run Marijuana Ads But That Won`t Silence Patients

New York City TV just showed its colors.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Cannabis, or marijuana as it is widely known in the United States, has been used medicinally for thousands of years. This fact is indisputable. Another fact, it has never caused a death.

Now, let's get down to business. Speaking directly to those with an objection to marijuana: You don't like marijuana, because it makes you uncomfortable. As a kid, it was a taboo, and associated with the seedy road of life. Now that you're an adult, you see it as a risk. A risk to your social status, to your employment status, even to your personal relationships.

PTSD Policemen: My Dogface Brothers in Blue

Before any cops think I am calling them a bad name… read on. Dogface is an honorific term for an infantryman who has survived 30 days of combat. Many did not last 30 minutes.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Police officers If any non-military persons ever deserved the Combat Infantry Badge (CIB) it is policemen. Three examples of the inherent danger of being a policeman showed up in stark horror in December in Woodburn, Oregon with two policemen blown to bits and another with a leg blown off.

I am drawn to say that a Police Badge is almost the equivalent of The CIB. If you watch TV of the urban warfare in Iraq you get the notion of a police chase through a town and recently three policemen trying to disarm the bomb which killed two of them.

Medical Marijuana; The Oregonian and the Safest Medicine Ever Discovered (Part Two)

Phillip Leveque has spent his life as a Combat Infantryman, Pharmacologist, Toxicologist and Physician.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Marijuana bud I thank the Oregonian Newspaper for reports about dangerous drugs and more dangerous combinations in their story of December 24th, 2008.

The story points out that 50 million Americans are at risk. This is true because about 100 thousand patients die each year from medical misadventures which strangely enough are caused by their doctors.

Doctors aren’t supposed to know everything and Pharmacology or the science of the action of drugs usually doesn’t have a concurrent course of Therapeutics which is specific for which drug for THE specific disease.

Medical Marijuana Bad?: Oregonian Newspaper Good? PART ONE

Phillip Leveque has spent his life as a Combat Infantryman, Pharmacologist, Toxicologist and Physician.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - anandamide metabolism The Oregonian newspaper seemingly has NOT been able to print even a neutral article about medical marijuana users or the whole shebang even though they know that over 22 thousand Oregon patients have permits approved by 3 thousand doctors.

I have been their target of abuse even though I was completely cooperative with them for a dozen or more stories. The final straw was when The Oregonian printed that “(Dr. Leveque) is a danger to all of his patients and the public in general”.

If they had an ounce of veracity claimed by journalists they knew this was totally false. They can’t find one person of my 4 thousand patients whom I have harmed. There wasn't one.

Marijuana Leveque: 2008

Phillip Leveque has spent his life as a Combat Infantryman, Pharmacologist, Toxicologist and Physician.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Some may dislike and shudder at such a name. Marijuana Leveque. I don’t. I have been called much worse – Quack, snake oil salesman. In Italy I’m Dr. Pot, here I'm "most dangerous man in Oregon", etc.

After I saw “REEFER MADNESS” six times – I was forced to do so as a pharmacology instructor in medical school - I had to monitor the class to prevent them from laughing out loud or leaving the room.

Even Judge Francis Young of the DEA said it was the safest drug ever found by man. “REEFER MADNESS”, my foot!

HempStalk 2008 Gives Legalization Activists a Voice (VIDEO)

"Relax it, Tax it!" was the mantra heard throughout the 2-day festival.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - NORML founder Keith Stroup Bringing Oregon's hemp movement to center stage, HempStalk 08 created an environment where rational discussion regarding Cannabis legalization was the norm.

Thousands converged on Portland's Eastbank Festival Plaza last weekend for the fourth annual HempStalk, learning about the benefits of hemp cultivation and to support legalization of Cannabis for all adults.

Paul Stanford of the The Hemp and Cannabis Foundation (THCF) is an organizer of the event. He introduced Dr. Phil Leveque as an integral force behind the success of medical marijuana in Oregon.

Leveque took the stage and addressed the enthusiastic crowd, "Good afternoon, you Potheads!", met with a resounding applause.

Marijuana Doctors and Schizophrenia

Phillip Leveque has spent his life as a Combat Infantryman, Physician Pharmacologist and Toxicologist. After surviving WWII, he went on to treat veterans for years who suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com After going through almost ten years of medical marijuana patients I’m beginning to think that the movie Reefer Madness was correct in its title - but it wasn’t the lousy actors who were acting crazy but the people who had it made.

I’m sure Harry Aslinger had a lot to do with it. He was like the vicious drug czars anti-marijuana fakers of this day - all hat and nothing under the hat in the way of brains and knowledge that marijuana had been used safely as medicine for at least 4 thousand years without any deaths and was the most popular medicine in the U.S. from 1850 till at least 1900.
