19-Year-Old Teen Killed in Accident Near Amity

The crash was not witnessed, but a local resident heard it and called 911.

(AMITY, Ore. ) - Amity Fatal Crash A 19-year-old girl was killed Thursday morning in a single vehicle crash that occurred along Highway 153 (SE Amity Road) east of Amity near SE Burch Hill Road in Yamhill County.

According to Sergeant Brad Hessel, at approximately 10:20 a.m., a 1999 Toyota Camry four-door driven by Ariel Dawn Dumler was traveling eastbound on Highway 153 when, for an unconfirmed reason, the driver lost control on a slight left curve.

Salem, Oregon Grass Fire at 4-Alarms - UPDATE #2

Drivers using Salem-Dallas Highway in the next few hours should expect delays westbound as fire crews battle the blaze.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Fire Salem, and other area firefighters are battling a large, high risk grass fire just off the Salem-Dallas Highway at College Drive.

The fire has gone to a 4th alarm, and fire crews from Keizer, Marion and Polk Counties are on the scene and have been battling the fire for about the past two hours in hot, dry conditions.

A couple of homes in the area have been evacuated in the area off Doaks Ferry Road.

Oregon Man Sets Cruise Control; Rams Stopped Cars on I-5

One person suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore. ) - Wilsonville Crash One person received non-life threatening injuries Saturday afternoon in a five vehicle chain-reaction crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Wilsonville.

An Oregon State Police investigation concluded with the offending driver being cited for Careless Driving.

Two Oregon Highways CLOSED Due to Incidents

UPDATE: U.S. 20, Santiam Highway, is now open. However, traffic is backed up and long delays should be expected.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - BREAKING NEWS Motorist traveling, or preparing to leave the Willamette Valley in the coming hour should BE AWARE! of two incidents that are currently backing up traffic and causing delays.

Oregon highway 58, Willamette Highway, remains blocked approximately six miles east of Pleasant Hill after a double tanker truck, carrying more than 10,000 gallons of diesel and gasoline overturned.

ODOT Launches Real Time Traffic Information in Portland Area

National studies show that advisory speed signs have reduced overall crashes by 20 percent, reduced rear-end collisions by 30 percent and reduced secondary crashes by 40 percent.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Portland Oregon Traffic On Thursday, ODOT launched the first in a series of projects that use new technologies to improve safety, reduce secondary crashes and provide travelers with information to help them safely get to where they are going.

The ODOT RealTime systems employ sensors in and along the roads that will accurately convey travel times to motorists and establish advisory speed limits that will tell motorists to slow down for a crash, stall or other delay in the road ahead.

Police: Alcohol May Have Caused Serious Bicycle Crash

The bicyclist was transported from the scene by LifeFlight to Oregon Health & Science University.

(MOLALLA, Ore. ) - Molalla bicycle crash Oregon State Police are continuing the investigation into Thursday's serious injury bicycle involved crash that occurred along Highway 211 just east of Molalla.

At approximately 7:40 a.m., a 44-year old male riding a bicycle westbound on Highway 211 near S. Vaughan Road when he suddenly turned left into the path of a westbound 2005 Toyota pickup approaching from behind.

Two Injured When Truck Plows Into Back of Pickup

No arrests or citations have been issued yet.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore. ) - Oregon State Police Oregon State Police are continuing to investigate a Tuesday morning crash between a truck and pickup on Ore. Highway 99E between Amity and McMinnville.

Oregon State Police spokesman Lt. Gregg Hastings says one person was seriously injured when the truck he was driving slammed into the rear of a stopped pickup just before noon.

Oregon to Become First State to Implement Road Usage Charge

Oregon is the first to implement a road use charging program, but many states are evaluating how such a system could work for them.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Portland Oregon Highways State governments and policy makers contemplating per-mile charging as a way to sustain transportation funding can now learn how Oregon established the nation’s first ever Road Usage Charge Program for light vehicles.

ODOT's new publication, “Road Usage Charge Pilot Program 2013 & Per-Mile Charge Policy in Oregon,” details how Oregon successfully designed and completed its second per-mile charge pilot program and ultimately passed legislation to establish a fully operational road usage charging program.

Oregon’s Senate Bill 810 was the first legislation in the U.S. to establish a per-mile charge. It authorized ODOT to set up a mileage collection system for volunteer motorists beginning July 1, 2015.
