Hazard Tree Removal to Cause Delays on Hwy 18 in Van Duzer State Scenic Corridor

This effects milepost 8.5 to milepost 19, Grand Ronde to the coast.

(GRAND RONDE, Ore.) - VanDuzer corridor Travelers may experience delays on a 10-mile stretch of Highway 18 in the H.B. Van Duzer State Scenic Corridor while crews remove unhealthy trees. ODOT will be working under an agreement with Oregon Parks and Recreation Department on the three-day project, set for Feb. 24-26, weather permitting.

The tree removal will occur during daylight hours, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

17,000 Customers in Lebanon Area Restored

Power On!

(LEBANON, Ore.) - power restored As of 3:45 pm, power has been restored to approximately 17,000 customers in the Lebanon area after 60-mile-per-hour winds and heavy rains caused 12 power poles to come down along Highway 34 starting at 10 am.

Now about 1,500 customers remain without power as we bring back service circuit by circuit to avoid unbalancing the system. This will take an hour or so.

OR 34 near Lebanon Restricted for Two Days (UPDATE)

Travelers should anticipate delays and increased congestion during peak travel times.

(LEBANON, Ore.) - downed power lines OR 34 (Corvallis-Lebanon Hwy.) will remain restricted to a single lane of travel in each direction approximately one mile west of Lebanon (MP15.7) for the next two days and possibly longer.

A dozen power poles and multiple power lines fell into the eastbound lanes of the highway after strong winds earlier today.

Fatal Head-On Crash on HWY 22W near MP 6.5 in Polk County

This stretch of highway can be very dangerous, even for the most experienced driver.

(SALEM, Ore.) - fatal crash Polk County Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into this afternoon's head-on crash on highway 22W at milepost 6.5 - near Red Prairie Road in Polk County.

Preliminary information indicates shortly before 4:30 p.m., a green, 1995 Plymouth Neon, was westbound on highway 22W near Red Prairie Road overtaking another vehicle in the oncoming lane. The Neon collided head-on with an eastbound, Gray, 2004 Chevrolet Venture.

Deputies on Scene of Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

The fatal accident will be investigated throughout the day.

(AURORA, Ore.) - Arndt road fatal The Marion County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Team is on scene of a two vehicle crash, on Arndt Road NE, near Aurora. The initial investigation shows that a commercial truck traveling east on Arndt Road collided with a pickup truck traveling westbound.

The driver of the commercial truck is not injured and cooperating with investigators, tragically the driver of the pickup truck has been pronounced dead at the scene.

Yamhill County Sheriff`s Office Arrests One Driver For DUII On Super Bowl Sunday

In the United States, the number of drunk driving deaths has been cut in half since 1980.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - police lights On Super Bowl Sunday, the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office conducted focused patrols to deter and remove intoxicated drivers from the road.

One driver, involved in a motor vehicle crash on Wilsonville Road near Star Mooring Lane in rural Newberg, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants prior to the beginning of the actual game. The Sheriff's Office responded to three crashes total on Super Bowl Sunday.

Two People Critically Injured in South Marion County Crash

Two vehicles collided head-on with each other at about 2:30 pm this afternoon on Liberty Rd S near Bunker Hill Rd S.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Bunker Hill crash One the vehicles is a Green 1993 Ford Explorer, driven by 39-year old Michael Lowe of South Salem and the other is a Black 2013 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 58-year old Randy Harrison, also of South Salem.

Lowe was extricated from his vehicle by fire personnel. Both Lowe and Harrison were injured in the crash and transported by ambulance to Salem hospital where they are in critical condition.

Oregon Gas Prices Keep Tumbling Down

Lower gas prices are a welcome relief for consumers across the U.S.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Oregon gas prices U.S. motorists are paying an average price at the pump today ($2.13 per gallon) that is more than forty percent lower than the 2014 peak of $3.70 reached on April 28.

The national average continues to test lows not seen since May 2009 and has now dropped a record 109 consecutive days for a total decline of $1.22 per gallon during this span.

Over 20 Trucks and Vehicles in Major Crash on I-84

4 people were transported with minor to serious injuries.

(EASTERN OREGON) - I-84 crash I-84 Eastbound is now open to single lane travel at MP 318, 12 miles east of Baker City. Both lanes of the Eastbound freeway had been blocked since around 4:54 a.m. due to a crash involving over 20 semi-trucks and other vehicles.

The Eastbound freeway is also open at La Grande and Pendleton.
