Well-Known Northwest Motorcyclist Irish McKinney Killed in Accident

McKinney was a generous soul, known for helping others.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Irish and Marjorie McKinney Longtime community advocate 56-year old Irish McKinney was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident near Needles, California on Monday, Aug. 17.

Irish was well-known to the White Center/Burien-area as both an avid Harley rider as well as a tireless fundraiser for the needy, raising over $26,000 for the White Center Food Bank in the last few years, including $15,000 last year, according to Sean Robinson. “That was his passion people...helping...and the motorcycle community,” Sean told The B-Town Blog.

Polk County Deputy Saved From Burning Car

The Deputy and the driver of the other vehicle were injured during the crash

(DALLAS, Ore. ) - Polk county deputy Deputy Shon Latty was responding to assist an Independence Police Officer who had called over the radio for help as the Officer was actively fighting with someone. While heading to the call, Deputy Latty was leaving the city of Dallas on Monmouth Cutofff Rd with his lights and siren going.

At about 12:07 p.m. Deputy Latty was approaching Godsey Rd when Deputy Latty's vehicle collided with another vehicle.

82nd Airborne Division Paratrooper Dies in Motorcycle Accident

Condolences for the friends and family of Pfc. Philbrook.

(FORT BRAGG, N.C.) - Holden Philbrook An 82nd Airborne Division Paratrooper died early Tuesday morning from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that occurred on Cliffdale Road in Fayetteville, Monday.

Pfc. Holden Jeffrey Philbrook, 19, of Citrus Heights, California, was an indirect fire infantryman with 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Abn. Div.

Sentencing of Drake Carson Related To Pursuit Fatality

This teenage driver from Marion County faced multiple charges for the January 26th, 2015 traffic crash that left one person dead.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fatal crash outside Salem Today, Drake Alan Douglas Carson, 17, pled guilty to Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.

After accepting the plea, the Honorable Cheryl Pellegrini sentenced Carson to a total of 84 months in the Department of Corrections, followed by 27 months of Post-Prison Supervision.

Lumber Truck Crash Creates Traffic Problems

Excessive speed appears to be a factor.

(SALEM, Ore.) - lumber truck crash A semi-truck carrying a load of lumber southbound on the Salem Parkway tipped over at Commercial St NE spilling its load.

Just after 3:00 PM, 46-year old Douglas Barnes, from Amity, was operating the 1985 Peterbilt pulling two flat bed trailers loaded with lumber. The truck rolled over as he was southbound on the Salem Parkway negotiating the curve onto Commercial St NE.

Fatal Traffic Crash on HWY 99W near McDougal Junction

ODOT established a detour around the crash scene on the heavily traveled highway.

(DAYTON, Ore.) - car crash Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into this morning's fatal crash on highway 99W near milepost 30, just south of McDougal Junction in Yamhill County.

A Tan Ford SUV was traveling northbound on highway 99W when for undetermined reasons the vehicle crossed the centerline into the southbound lane.
