Grand Jury Declines to Indict Man in Killing of Marquis Taylor

Two Others Indicted for Robbery

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The Grand Jury determined that Anderson was justified in his use of deadly force after being robbed by Taylor and two other young men: 18-year-old Mehamed Osman Ali and 18-year-old K'Shawn Davon Harris.

The Grand Jury indicted Ali and Harris on charges of Robbery in the First Degree and Robbery in the Second Degree.

Pedestrian Hit and Killed on Hwy 22

This is the third fatal crash involving pedestrians that OSP has investigated in the past week.

(SALEM, Ore.) - A 50-year old male was crossing Highway 22 (from the south to north) when he was struck by a 2016 Chevrolet Cruz sedan traveling westbound on Highway 22.

The driver of this vehicle told troopers she attempted to avoid the pedestrian but was unable to do so. After this impact, the pedestrian was struck by a second westbound vehicle, a 2007 Toyota Corolla.

Body Found Floating in Pringle Creek Monday

The man's identity is known but has not been announced.

(SALEM, Ore.) - A walker on the pedestrian path saw the body of a man in the waters of Pringle Creek and called 911 about 8:45 a.m., according to Salem Police.

The Salem Fire Department water rescue team recovered the body from the swift moving waters of the creek. According to Salem police Lt. Steve Birr, a pillar had stopped the body from progressing downstream.

Vancouver Woman Identified as Victim of Homicide

Person of interest was last seen driving a white, 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup, bearing Oregon plate 184 HLR.

(LAFAYETTE, Ore.) - Police have positively identified the female body found near Lafayette, on Sunday, October 2, 2016. The victim is 37-year old Lilia Cosco-Ortiz, of Vancouver, WA.

She was positively identified late yesterday, Monday, October 3, however this information was withheld by authorities until family members were advised. Ms. Cosco-Ortiz was last seen leaving her Vancouver home, late Saturday, October 1, 2016.

Female Body Found in Field Outside Lafayette

Autopsy reveals she died of Homicidal violence.

(LAFAYETTE, Ore.) - On Sunday, about 1:14 pm, the body of a female was found in a blueberry field by a few citizens who were driving through the area. Once they realized what it was they contacted authorities.

Monday, October 3rd, an autopsy was conducted on the unidentified female by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office. The medical examiner has determined the cause of death was by homicidal violence.

Newberg Man Killed In Highway 99W Crash

(NEWBERG, Ore.) - Preliminary investigation revealed a 2012 Acura MDX was traveling northbound on Highway 99W when it encountered stopped traffic, which was a result of another crash.

The Acura driver braked rapidly and came to a stop. A 2002 Harley Davidson was following the Acura and rear ended it which ejected the the motorcyclist.

Highway 58 Crash Claims a Life

The Honda traveled off of the roadway as it entered a curve.

(OAKRIDGE, Ore.) - Reports of a single vehicle off of the roadway on Highway 58 near milepost 27 were received by Oregon State Police Monday evening just after 8 pm.

Initial reports indicated that the vehicle was upside down with a single operator trapped inside, just east of Black Canyon Campground.
