(SALEM, Ore.) - A body was found floating in Pringle on Creek Monday morning, near Salem City Hall. A walker on the pedestrian path saw the body of a man in the waters of Pringle Creek and called 911 about 8:45 a.m., according to Salem Police. The Salem Fire Department water rescue team recovered the body from the swift moving waters of the creek. According to Salem police Lt. Steve Birr, a pillar had stopped the body from progressing downstream. By late morning, the man's body had been pulled from the water, and police went to work to identify him. The investigators have now identified the deceased man, but it will be announced pending next of kin notification. Lt. Okada said there were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play. The Marion County and state medical examiner will determine the man's cause of death. How and why he was in the area of Pringle Creek is still a mystery. The investigation into this death continues.
