Oregon Welcomes Home Airmen from Iraq Deployment (PHOTOS)

(WARRENTON, Ore.) - Oregon Guard homecoming Members of one of the most activated and deployed units in the Oregon Air National Guard participated in a demobilization ceremony at the Rilea Training Facility here.

Twenty-seven members of the 116th Air Control Squadron were deployed to Iraq from September 2008 to February 2009, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Army Captain Indicted for Money Laundering and Theft of Government Property

Indictment Alleges Captain Stole in Excess of $690,000.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Muqdadiyah, Iraq A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging Capt. Michael Dung Nguyen, 28, of Ft. Lewis, Wash., with theft of government property, money laundering and structuring financial transactions, U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon Karin J. Immergut announced today.

Nguyen was scheduled to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Papak at 1:30 p.m. PST today to answer to the charges.

Obama and Israel`s Military: Still Arm-in-Arm

Obama's supporters must demand that he live up to his promise to change the mindset in Washington that has contributed to such death and destruction in the Middle East.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - Destruction at a UN compound in Gaza City In the wake of Israel's massive assault on heavily populated civilian areas of the Gaza Strip earlier this year, Amnesty International called for the United States to suspend military aid to Israel on human rights grounds.

Amnesty has also called for the United Nations to impose a mandatory arms embargo on Hamas and Israel. Unfortunately, it appears that President Barack Obama won't be heeding Amnesty's call.

US Soldier Guilty of Iraq Murder

An American military jury has found a US army officer guilty of the murder of an Iraqi detainee.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - 1st Lt Michael Behenna The jury in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, also convicted 1st Lt Michael Behenna of assaulting Ali Mansour Mohammed near Baiji, north of Baghdad, last May.

Behenna had argued that he was defending himself when he fatally shot Mr Mohammed during an interrogation.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Free training for clergy and related staff to address the special needs of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans and their families is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11th at the Lane County Armed Forces Reserve Center in Springfield, Oregon.

The training is sponsored by the Portland VA Medical Center, VA Roseburg Health Care System, The Oregon National Guard and VISN 20 Mental Illness Research, Educational and Clinical Centers.
