(SALEM, Ore.) - Senator Martha Schrader applauded the formation of the interim Veterans’ Affairs Committee –of which she was appointed chair this week.

“The list of things we were able to accomplish for our veterans this last session is impressive,” said Schrader (D-Canby).

(SALEM, Ore.) - Requiem: By the Photographers Who Died in Vietnam and Indochina will go on display August 15th at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University.

Requiem honors the 135 photographers who died in Vietnam between 1945 and 1975, including Robert Capa, Larry Burrows and Henri Huet.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Congressman Eric Massa has condemned the deeply offensive and unpatriotic statements of Lt. Col Ralph Peters (ret.) and Fox News Host Bill O'Reilly about prisoner of war PFC Bowe Bergdahl.

On Fox News on Monday, Mr. Peters, a "strategic analyst" for Fox News, suggested that the Taliban should execute PFC Bergdahl and "save us a lot of legal hassles and legal bills."

Traveling Wall and Field of Flags Mini-Documentary (VIDEO)

An exhibit of 1,000 Flags, honoring all who have served, and the traveling version of the Vietnam Wall, made for a memorable event in Albany.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - A spectacular tribute to the nation's military was in Albany last week at Timber Linn Park, which already has an area dedicated in honor of American veterans.

A miniature but complete version of the Vietnam Wall in Washington D.C. was constructed on the Albany park grounds and thousands made the trip to pay honor to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice while fighting in the Vietnam War.

Minnesota Pays Heavy Price in Latest War Casualty Reports

The state has seen its worst loss since 2005.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fourteen more U.S. servicemen have died fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. Five are from the state of Minnesota, three are from Texas, and two are from the state of Georgia. Pennsylvania, Idaho, Oklahoma and Colorado each saw the loss of one person from that state.

Another American, 23-year old Army Private first-class Bowe Bergdahl of Idaho, was captured by the Taliban while on patrol.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - I was relieved today, July 17, 2009, to see that the Oregonian, Dr. Karen Seal of The University of California, San Francisco and The American Journal of Public Health have finally caught up with me about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and suicides. I have been writing about this upcoming PTSD catastrophe for at least 2 years.

I accidentally became an expert about PTSD and suicides when I took care of upwards of 1000 PTSD Veteran victims in the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program.

Oregon Marine Among Casualties From Afghanistan

Seven U.S. servicemen are killed in action in Afghanistan, while a soldier in Iraq's death was not combat-related.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Reports of numerous casualties are being dispatched by the Department of Defense. We know based on PBS News and other reports, that three Americans were killed in an explosion in Basra, but no additional details were available.

Among those killed in Afghanistan are one Tualatin, Oregon Marine and another Marine from Glendale, California. They are among five Marine Corps casualties reported, as well as three soldiers in the U.S. Army.

One doctor with heavy influence seems to think PTSD Victims get over it “in a few years”. I just read of a U.S. Ranger, at Point du Hoc on D-Day in 1944, who STILL HAS PTSD.

President George H.W. Bush stepped aside and allowed Saddam to murder tens of thousands of Kurds, most women and children. This is the crime Saddam was executed for by Bush II, a crime facilitated by Bush I.
