PTSD Therapy: Talk it Out: Blatherskite
Grey`s Anatomy Shrink Bombs Again

Don’t the script writers know that PTSD is the biggest, worst psychological problem of returning PTSD vets, whether they were carrying a musket or a scalpel?

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com I have the greatest respect for the TV show Grey's Anatomy. The blood and guts of training to become a surgeon is realistic and the overall attrition rate is far greater than the general public can conceive.

The general reader will know what I am talking about. Some doctors believe they can effectively walk on water and on underlings, and the term Primadonna is too close to the truth.

The Senate says the bill includes a number of other provisions that are necessary to meet obligations and prevent crucial programs from lapsing.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - U.S. Senate The U.S. Senate today approved the Fiscal Year 2010 Defense Appropriations bill by a vote of 88 to 10. The bill is identical to the legislation that passed the House of Representatives on December 16th, and will now go to the President for his expected signature.

The Fiscal Year 2010 Defense Appropriations Bill continues to put troops first, preparing them for whatever emergencies may arise, providing them with first class weapons and equipment, and ensuring that they and their families are well taken care of.

Soldier Warrior Grandfather
to Soldier Warrior Grandson

A WWII Army Combat Vet's words to his grandson serving in Iraq.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Dr. Leveque and his grandson are both Army combat veterans, one served in WWII and one is presently serving in Iraq. Being in the Infantry is like no other kind of experience. Basic Infantry training is almost nothing like anything else a young man will do. It is almost the measure of a man even if he is only eighteen.

The physical work putting muscles on a young man where none existed before is damned hard work. It is not surprising looking back that so few were “washed out”.

Salute to My WWII Dogface Buddies: a Hoorah 65 Years Late

It took me about 20 years before I could think about or talk about WWII. Many of my fellow Dogfaces still can’t.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Scenes from the Battle of the Bulge in WWII This time of the year around Veteran’s Day and the Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, we 'Dogface' Infantry Veterans of WWII in Europe pause in thankful reflection of the nearly unbearable sacrifices of our fellow soldiers in that battle.

20,000 young American boys, mostly under 20 years old, died and 80,000 more were wounded or captured.

PTSD Women and the VA

No one wants to confront the VA because of the elected officials' political desire to use Veterans issues as an election ploy.

(LEE, N.H.) - Salem-News.com I read an article today - Back from combat, women struggle for acceptance. Can the descriptions of what these U.S. Military Veterans are going through be the same as when we returned from the Vietnam Conflict?

It is a lonely transition as they struggle to find their place, and they can describe what the American citizens who fought for this nation’s freedom have gone through after each conflict or after we came back from war.

Lejeune and El Toro: `A Tale of Two Bases`

Both Marine bases are EPA Superfunds sites. The govt. spent millions in remediation without disclosing the contaminants and health effects; there is no medical monitoring or health care for those injured, and hundreds of federal tort claims for Lejeune without going anywhere.

(SOMERDALE, NJ) - Camp Lejeune and El Toro logos It’s no secret that Marines are a band of brothers. It doesn’t matter if you were in the Corps yesterday or 40 years ago. Once a Marine; always a Marine.

This news story is about Marine veterans and their dependents that were exposed to toxic chemicals at former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, California, and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
