Oregon National Guard, NY Reserves Babylon Shoutout

Soldiers from The Oregon Guard and the Army Reserve out of New York, were recorded by Oregon Guard Master Sgt. Tom Hovie from the top of Saddam Hussein's palace next to ancient city of Babylon.

(BABYLON) - Members of the Oregon National Guard and New York Army Reserves sent a holiday and sports shout out for viewers here and everywhere else.

Oregon's 41st Brigade Combat Team is currently deployed for a year in Iraq where they are involved in a number of different types of missions.

The soldiers from The Oregon Guard and the Army Reserve out of New York, were recorded by Oregon Guard Master Sgt. Tom Hovie from the top of Saddam Hussein's palace next to ancient city of Babylon.

Salem-News.com knows what it is like to spend the holidays in a war zone, our Tim King spent both Thanksgiving and Christmas in Afghanistan with the Oregon Guard's 41st BCT three years ago.

These soldiers away from home are serving their nation and answering the call to serve overseas. Please consider them always in your thoughts.
