Canby Police Car In 3-Vehicle Crash

The Canby Police car was driven by a Canby Police Sergeant and a Canby Police Lieutenant was a passenger.

According to police, it appears that about 4:45 PM, a Canby police car turned from South End Road onto Southbound SR 99E, and collided with a 1995 Toyota Camry. The Camry was driven by an adult female from Tualatin, who was taken to Oregon Health Sciences University with serious, but not life threatening, injuries.
The first impact caused a secondary crash with a third vehicle, a Ford F-150 pick up truck driven by an adult male. He was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Linfield Basketball Player Killed in Car Wreck

In the wake of the team tragedy, the Linfield women's basketball team has cancelled Friday's season opening game at Cascade College.
(McMINNVILLE) -
Counselors and staff at Linfield College are meeting with students and faculty after learning that Linfield College student Chelsea Peterson (Fr., Hockinson, Wash.) died early Sunday morning in a single car accident near Newberg.
Peterson was 18.
"She was a young lady with great spirit and determination," said Robyn Stewart, women's basketball coach at Linfield. "She always had a smile on her face and was encouraging and positive to her teammates. She had a bright future as a basketball player."

Rainy Roads May Be Factor in Fatality

Tragic accidents like this one are mounting during this stormy weather

At 5:15 PM Tuesday, Oregon State Police was enroute to a fatal traffic crash on Highway 22, about 14 miles east of Detroit at milepost 66.
The highway was reportedly blocked by this single vehicle accident, apparently with one fatality.

Accident on South Coast Claims Two

Officials say that weather conditions at the time of the accident consisted of heavy rain, high winds, and wet pavement.

Two people have died and a third was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle traffic crash on Highway 101 about 1/2 mile north of Lakeside.
Oregon State Police say the preliminary investigation indicates that at about 3:00 PM on November 7th, a 1997 Ford Mustang driven by 53-year old Weldon Russell Frizzell, from North Bend, was northbound uphill on Highway 101 near milepost 221 when, for an unknown reason, it swerved broadside across the centerline into the southbound lane where it was struck in the passenger side by a southbound 2005 Chevrolet Ventura van.
Both vehicles came to a stop in the southbound lane.

Head-on Collision Sends Two to Hospital

Fire fighters from Marion County exticated both drivers from their vehicles
(SALEM) -
Two people were seriously injured Tuesday morning after their vehicles collided head-on about four miles north of Brooks on Highway 99E. Oregon State Police troopers are investigating alcohol as a possible contributing factor in this crash.
On November 7th, 2006 at about 6:15 AM, a 1989 Ford Aerostar van driven by 34-year old Elizabeth Encarnacion-Lucero, from Woodburn, was southbound on Highway 99E near Topaz Road NE when it sideswiped a northbound 2000 Chevrolet pickup.
The van continued into the northbound lane where it crashed head-on with a 1996 Honda Accord driven by 27-year old Alberto Alvarez, from Salem.
Encarnacion-Lucero and Alvarez were both seriously injured and trapped in their vehicles.

Salem Man Dies While Driving on I-5

(SALEM) -
A Salem man who died Thursday afternoon while driving on the freeway may possibly be the victim of a heart attack. A pick-up truck operated 65-year old Ronald English of Salem left Interstate 5 south of Salem and came to a stop in a bordering field around 4:30 PM.
Oregon State Police troopers and emergency medical personnel responded to a report of a vehicle that went off the freeway, through a fence, and came to a stop in a field.
Troopers say their preliminary investigation indicates a 1998 Mazda pickup driven by Mr. English was northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 243 when it veered off the right shoulder. The pickup went through a fence and stopped in a field on the east side of the freeway.

Early Morning Crash in Rural Yamhill County Kills Wilsonville Man

A single vehicle crash in the 32000 block of Wilsonville Rd. claimed the life of a 46-year-old Wilsonville man early Saturday morning.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle has been identified as Russell Irvin Michel. He was not wearing safety restraints.
Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree said that the 12:50 PM crash 3 miles east of Newberg, occurred when the east bound Nissan Pathfinder drifted off the road and spun out of control, crashing into an embankment.

Graeme R. Frasier was ejected from a 1972 Ford pick-up when its driver lost control according to investigators.

Semi-Truck Grinds to a Halt in Oregon City Tunnel

Nobody was hurt when the Kenworth semi-truck ground to a sudden halt.
(OREGON CITY) -
A commercial truck towing a semi-trailer loaded with wire spools became temporarily stuck Tuesday morning on Highway 99E in the Oregon City tunnel.
The stall required the closure of one lane for about two hours before the vehicles could be removed.
It started when a 1999 Kenworth truck became stuck at 5:30 AM while towing a semi-trailer loaded with wire spools while traveling southbound on Highway 99E entering the Oregon City tunnel.
