Crash Near Florence Leaves Woman Critically Injured

(FLORENCE) - Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation into a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 101 about three miles south of Florence. The
crash has left one person in critical condition, and troopers are investigating to determine if alcohol was a contributing factor.

Investigators say that at around 12:40 PM Sunday, a 2005 Dodge pickup driven by 53-year old Rodney L. Deris of Florence, was southbound on Highway 101 when it drove off into a ditch on the right shoulder then came back onto the highway and crossed the centerline.

The Dodge pickup crashed nearly head-on with a northbound 1993 Honda Civic four-door.

Fatal Crash Stops Highway 22 Near Detroit

State Police and emergency crews are on the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash near Detroit, drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible or expect long delays.

(DETROIT) - fatal crash investigation logo Police and fire crews say a crash on Highway 22 at the west end of Detroit Lake near Big Cliff Dam happened around 7:30 PM Sunday claimed the life of one person.

Oregon State Police were enroute to the scene at 7:45 PM.

Fire personnel already on scene report that this crash as fatal. At this point, they say the number of vehicles involved is unknown, and the initial report involves one
fatality.

One Person Dies in Head-On Crash Near McMinnville

(MCMINNVILLE) - fatal crash investigation logo One person died and another received non-life threatening injuries in a two-vehicle head-on crash Friday evening on Highway 18 near the west McMinnville bypass.

This is the second fatal crash investigated by Oregon State Police Friday and the first that falls within the official Fourth of July holiday reporting period. The name of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

OSP troopers say that at approximately 7:10 PM, a 1991 Mazda Miata driven by an adult male was eastbound on Highway 18 near milepost 44.5 when, for an unknown reason, it crossed into the westbound lane.

Head-On Crash at Chemawa Road Causes Critical Injuries

Police say alcohol may have been a factor in the head-on collision that closed a freeway exit ramp on I-5 for two hours.

(KEIZER) - Two people were seriously injured early Monday morning in a two car head-on crash that police say involved a wrong way driver on the Interstate 5 northbound exit ramp at the Chemawa interchange at Keizer.

The freeway exit ramp was closed about two hours and Oregon State Police troopers say they are investigating alcohol as a possible contributing factor.

Rollover Crash Kills Baker City Man

(BAKER CITY) - A 19-year old Baker City resident died Monday afternoon when he lost control of the sport utility vehicle he was driving and rolled several times off Highway 30 about three miles north of Baker City.

Around 3:25 PM, a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo driven by 19-year old Jeremy Wade Bates of Baker City, was southbound on Highway 30 near milepost 47 when it drifted onto the right gravel shoulder. Police say Jeremy Bates attempted to correct the path of the vehicle but over corrected and veered into both lanes.

The Isuzu continued off the southbound shoulder and rolled several times before coming to rest on its top.

Medford Area Teens Killed in Single Vehicle Crash Early Tuesday

Police from throughout Oregon are hoping that young drivers learn from tragedies like this.

(SALEM) - Three Medford-area teenagers, graduates this year from South Medford High School, were killed early Tuesday morning when their vehicle lost control on Highway 238 near Ruch, crashed into a tree and came to rest upside down in the Applegate River. Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation.

Police say that at approximately 12:15 AM, a 1994 BMW 740 four-door driven by 18-year old Kyle Charles Ross of Medford, was westbound on Highway 238 near milepost 27 at a high rate of speed negotiating a right-hand curve. Investigators say Ross lost control causing the car to
travel off the north side of the highway and down an embankment where it struck a tree.

Lebanon Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

(LEBANON) - Fatal Crash investigation logo A Lebanon man was killed when his motorcycle impacted a concrete bridge abutment near the Santiam River Saturday afternoon between Lebanon and Sweet Home.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle at 7:24 PM Saturday on Pleasant Valley Road and McDowell Creek Road.

While en-route to the crash they were informed by Lebanon Fire Medics that the only person involved in this crash was deceased.

Oregon City Man Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash Near Keizer

(KEIZER) - Car slammed into a tree Investigators believe that speed and alcohol were factors in a crash Monday afternoon that sent two men to the hospital, one with serious injuries.

It happened just before 1:00 PM Monday at Wheatland Rd NE near Brooklake Rd NE, north of Keizer, according to Kevin Rau with the Marion County Sheriff`s Office.

He says that based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the black 1991 Nissan was being driven by 23-year-old James Reasons III, of Oregon City who lost control in a curve, causing the car to leave the road, go down an embankment and hit a tree.

Vladimir Gorkavchenko and his family had been camping in the area and were driving down Breitenbusch Road on their way back to Salem when the crash, and shooting occurred.

Silverton Man Killed in Thursday Morning Crash Was Watchman at Capital Manor

The staff and residents of the retirement facility in West Salem are still in shock and disbelief that one of their own was killed by a suspected drunk driver

(SALEM) - Capital Manor in West Salem A Thursday morning crash in Polk County, at the intersection of Highway 99W and Highway 22, claimed the life of 67-year-old Edward Douglas from Silverton who, for the past 4-years, had been a well loved night watchman at Capital Manor. Capital Manor Executive Director Scott Ferguson said the staff and residents are still in shock over Douglas` death.

`The residents loved him, he would take the extra time just to sit and talk with them about anything, this is a HUGE loss for everyone here` Ferguson said.

Staff members said they appreciated and respected Douglas because when it was dark outside, he would watch them to make sure they made it safely to and from their cars.

As one staff member put it, `he was one of the good guys".

22-year-old Jonathan Orsborn from Dallas remains in the Polk County Jail on a number of charges.
