University of Oregon Golfer Will Play in 2014 U.S. Open

McIver first Duck – current or former – to do so since Ben Crane did it in 2012.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - As far as good news goes, UO sophomore Brandon McIver received one of the best phone calls one could from the United States Golf Association.

The Billings, Mont., native was notified Monday night that he was going to play at the Pinehurst No. 2 course, the site of the 2014 U.S. Open.

#1 Oregon to Host NCAA Track and Field Championships

ESPN Networks will cover every day of the meet, with Wednesday and Thursday being broadcast on ESPN3, starting at 3:55 p.m. PT.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - The University of Oregon will host the NCAA Track and Field Championships for the second-consecutive year and the 12th time in meet history, June 11-14 at Historic Hayward Field.

Events will start at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. on Thursday and 12:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

Free Shuttle Service Offered for NCAA Track and Field Championships

Fans are also reminded that no alcohol or tobacco is permitted at Hayward Field.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - The University of Oregon is offering a free shuttle for those fans looking for the easiest way to get to and from the 2014 NCAA Track and Field Championships, which will be held at Historic Hayward Field this Wednesday through Saturday.

Shuttles will depart from Autzen Stadium’s south side beginning three hours prior to the first event of the day and will run continuously every 15 to 30 minutes throughout the competition.

University of Oregon Plans New Softball Stadium With 10 Million Dollar Gift

Oregon won it's second straight Pac-12 title and advanced to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City. The Ducks won two WCWS games for the first time ever, and set a school record with 56 victories.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - The University of Oregon softball team enjoyed tremendous success on the field this season. And now, the Ducks will enjoy a brand new softball facility in the not-too-distant future.

During Saturday evening’s Women in Flight dinner, Athletics Director Rob Mullens announced a $10 million gift from Robert Sanders to Oregon softball that will lead this drive to constructing a new softball stadium.

Jenna Prandini, a redshirt sophomore, will have a huge say in the Ducks’ attempt at their first outdoor team title since 1985.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Her burden next week is heavy enough to be worthy of a broad-shouldered thrower from the Oregon track and field program.

Instead, Jenna Prandini will use her fleet feet and springy legs in attempting to score in four events at the NCAA Outdoor championships. The meet begins Wednesday at Hayward Field.

Oregon Signs Prized International Recruit Simon Stevens

Robin Cambier was the first Belgian to sign under Schyllander prior to the 2010 season.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - The University of Oregon men’s tennis team signed prized international recruit Simon Stevens to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Nils Schyllander announced on Friday.

Stevens, a native of Charleroi, Belgium, has been ranked as high as No. 152 in the International Tennis Federation junior world rankings.

Oregon is looking to replace departed starting outside linebacker Boseko Lokombo in 2014.

(EUGENE. Ore. ) - Outside linebacker Eddie Heard of Laney College in Oakland, Calif., has signed a financial aid agreement to play at Oregon.

Heard, who plans to be on campus for summer classes, has four years in which to play three at Oregon.

Jake Reed goes in the fifth round to the Minnesota Twins, while Tommy Thorpe was selected in the eighth round by the Chicago Cubs.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - University of Oregon baseball players Jake Reed and Tommy Thorpe were drafted on day two of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Friday.

Oregon has now had 26 players drafted since 2009 with a total of 45 Ducks drafted all-time.

Danielle Walter averaged 4.5 points, 2.6 assists and 1.3 rebounds while appearing in all 34 games for the Bulldogs last season.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - University of Oregon The Oregon women’s basketball program has signed fifth-year Gonzaga transfer Danielle Walter, head coach Kelly Graves announced on Thursday.

Walter, a 6-foot- combo guard from Pasco, Wash., will be able to play immediately in her final season of eligibility after graduating from Gonzaga.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - A.J. Balta and Matt Krook Freshmen A.J. Balta and Matt Krook have been named to the 2014 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-America Team, released by Collegiate Baseball newspaper on Wednesday.

Krook and Balta are the fifth and sixth Ducks’ players to earn freshmen All-America recognition.
