Vanderbilt Ends Oregon`s Season With 3-2 Victory

The Commodores have traditionally used dominating pitching to propel their postseason success, and this year has been no exception.

(Nashville, Tenn) - University of Oregon The top-seeded Commodores advanced to the Super Regionals when freshman Ro Coleman slapped a bases-loaded, walk-off single to left field to give Vanderbilt a 3-2 comeback victory over No. 2-seeded Oregon in the championship game of the Nashville Regional at Hawkins Field.

Freshman Stephen Nogosek put Oregon in a position to win in just his second career start, but the Ducks couldn't hold off No. 20 Vanderbilt in the title game of the Nashville Regional on Sunday.

Oregon`s Historic Softball Run Comes to an End

A school-record win total, their first ever No. 1 ranking and the deepest Women's College World Series run in school history will have to do.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - University of Oregon Alabama pitcher Jaclyn Traina allowed just four hits in a shutout performance, and the No. 1 Oregon softball team fell 2-0 to the No. 2 Crimson Tide on Sunday. The Ducks were eliminated from the Women’s College World Series in the process; with a win, Oregon would have needed to beat Alabama again later Sunday before advancing to the best-of-three championship series.

Oregon Knocks Off Oklahoma; Need 2 Wins Over Tide to Advance

Cheridan Hawkins (35-5) picked up the win after allowing two runs on four hits in 6 1/3 innings, with four walks and five strikeouts.

(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) - University of Oregon Janie Takeda tallied a pair of RBIs and the No. 1 seeded Oregon softball team defeated No. 7 seed Oklahoma, 4-2, on Saturday night to advance in the Women’s College World Series.

Oregon will need to beat the Tide twice to move on, as Alabama enters the game unbeaten in the WCWS thus far. The winner of the Oregon and Alabama matchup will meet the winner between Florida and Baylor in the WCWS best-of-three championship series.

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) - University of Oregon Extending a regular-season trend into the postseason, the Vanderbilt baseball team continues to capitalize on its home field advantage — even when the Commodores are the “visiting” team.

Propelled by the strong pitching of Carson Fulmer, the top-seeded Commodores rolled to a 7-2 victory over No. 2-seeded Oregon on Saturday night in the winner’s bracket semifinals of the Nashville Regional before a crowd of 2,841 at Hawkins Field.

#1 Seed Oregon Shutout by #5 Seed Florida

A day after tossing a one-hit shutout in a win against Florida State, Oregon starter Cheridan Hawkins (34-5) took the loss against Florida after allowing four runs on five hits in 3 1/3 innings.

(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) - Florida pitcher Hannah Rogers tossed a three-hit shutout and the No. 1 seed Oregon softball team fell to No. 5 seed Florida, 4-0, on Friday at the Women's College World Series.

With the loss, the Ducks (55-8-1) face an elimination game Saturday at 6:30 p.m. PT on ESPN. Oregon will face the winner of another elimination game earlier in the day, between No. 6 Louisiana-Lafayette and No. 7 Oklahoma.

Oregon Rocks Clemson 18-1 in Regional Opener

Oregon starter Tommy Thorpe (11-4) earned the win, working seven innings of one-run ball and limiting Clemson to five hits.

(NASHVILLE, Calif.) - Pounding out a season-high 20 hits - including two homers, three triples and four doubles - the No. 2 seed Oregon Ducks rolled to an 18-1 win over No. 3 seeded Clemson on Friday afternoon in the opening game of the Nashville Regional at Hawkins Field.


Oregon’s Tyler Baumgartner finished 3-for-6 with a homer, two RBIs and three runs scored in Friday’s win, and Shaun Chase was 2-for-5 with a three-run homer. Nick Catalano added three hits and drove in three runs.

The then No. 1 Gators beat Oregon, 2-1 in eight innings, in the preseason.

(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) - In a duel with national player of the year, Florida State pitcher Lacey Waldrup, Oregon lefthander Cheridan Hawkins and the Ducks came out on top, with a 3-0 win in their first game of the Women’s College World Series.

The top-ranked Ducks (55-7-1), who set a program record for victories in a season, advanced to face Florida on Friday (4 p.m. PT, ESPN2).

Oregon Softball Trio Named All Americans

Courtney Ceo, Cheridan Hawkins and Janie Takeda were named All-Americans by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) - After helping the Ducks to their second straight Pac-12 title and a No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA softball championships, Courtney Ceo, Cheridan Hawkins and Janie Takeda were named All-Americans by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the group announced Wednesday in a press conference at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.

Ceo and Hawkins were first team All-America selections while Takeda earned second team All-America honors. Each team - first, second and third - included three pitchers and a player at each position, in addition to five at-large choices.
