SW Oregon Expects Historic Storm

Expect delays, poor driving conditions in SW Oregon

(MEDFORD, Ore.) - Oregon weather Drivers should expect damaging winds, especially on the south coast and blizzard conditions with low snow levels in the mountain passes. “If people can leave today, now is the time,” said ODOT District Manager Jerry Marmon. “Travel Tuesday into Wednesday is forecast to be the worst, with conditions improving for Thanksgiving Day.”

South coast wind gusts of more than 75 mph are predicted. Six to 12 inches of snow are expected to fall on the I-5 corridor in Oregon and higher amounts in the Cascade passes.

Crash Near Dayton Claims Three Lives

The multi-injury crash closed Dayton-Salem Hwy (221) for over four hours.

(DAYTON, Ore.) - fatal crash Preliminary investigation revealed a gray 2004 Volkswagen Passat, operated by 33-year old Krista Ashley, of Salem, was northbound on Hwy 221 going toward Dayton when, for unknown reasons, she crossed into the southbound lane striking a black 2019 Chevy Cruz, operated by 69-year old Susie Valdez of Salem.

Valdez and her passenger, 70-year old Robert Valdez of Salem both sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased.

(CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore.) - Camilo Santiago-Santiago At approximately 8:20 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15th, 911 dispatch received information that a suspect had walked into Heritage Specialty Foods in Wilsonville and fired multiple rounds with a handgun, killing one employee.

The suspect, 25-year old Camilo Santiago-Santiago, of Woodburn then fled the scene in a red sedan, traveling southbound toward Woodburn.
