Medical Marijuana: Ancient and Modern History, Current Therapeutic Eruptions

I am also heartened by the knowledge that maybe there are about a thousand MJ Dispensaries in California and the Governator tacitly approves of them.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Life Magazine Oct. 31, 1969 The ancient history of cannabis/marijuana is even more interesting than its present use as a modern medical miracle.

Marijuana, Autism and Andy Dworkin
Autism is a Big Industry

Autism and its several related brain diseases have been strongly helped by cannabis/marijuana which mimic the bodies own hormone, anandamide. This may be lacking in these autistic patients.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com I have already described my outstanding surprise about ABC News touting marijuana for autism, and also the dozens of emails from that story and my own postings.

The brouhaha didn’t really surprise me. After seeing the REEFER MADNESS movie 6 times nothing of this really surprises me.

Marijuana: Beneficial Medicine Part 3

Reefer Madness: Insanity, Ignorance or Illiteracy?

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com I have posted twice about ABC News lauding marijuana for Autism (see salem-news.com ABC Lauds Marijuana for Autism and ‘Marijuana Saved My Child’s Life’) and I was totally bewildered by the negative emails about parents giving DEVIL WEED to their children.

I decided to take refuge in Google where I found 11,000,000 hits about Medical Marijuana. I think Bing had only 593,000. I didn’t check anybody else. I hope you get the idea.

`Marijuana Saved My Child`s Life`

Reefer Madness: A Virulent Disease.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com What’s with the titles? Last week ABC News featured an autistic child. His mother said, “Marijuana saved my child's life”. I’ll bet this brought hundreds of irate emails about turning autistic children into marijuana intoxicated “stoners”.

Those persons, even some physicians, stuck on the movie Reefer Madness absent mindedly seem to believe that marijuana/cannabis somehow destroys the minds of any user. I will point out that many of our presidents have used MJ but maybe that is a bad example.

ABC News Lauds Marijuana for Autism

To the mothers of autistic children this must be a blessing in the greatest sense of the word.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Mother of boy who successfully uses medical marijuana for autism. As a physician/pharmacologist taking care of Medical Marijuana patients, I get totally surprised almost every day. The latest blockbuster was ABC News on Monday, Nov. 21, 2009 with a mother of a terrorizing autistic child whom ABC featured on their morning program.

This was about the first big-time TV report of successful treatment of Autism. It was very compelling information and should be a mind clearing event for thousands of parents of autistic, ADD/ADHD children.

The Dog House Helps Vets With PTSD

Blackdog Foundation is a self funded veteran outreach that deals with the most unpleasant aspects of PTSD such as domestic/community violence intervention and mediation.

(OLYMPIA, Wash. ) - Salem-News.com I started using the 38ft LCPL (WWII landing craft) my wife bought me to get Blackdog Foundation (Blackdog is a 501c3 set up to help veterans) out of her spare bedroom I was using as an office.

From the first time we used it, it blew me away how much peace using the boat brought those I was working with on PTSD issues.

Medical Marijuana and the By-Product Industry: Drug Counselors, e.g. Roger Burt MSW

As marijuana becomes increasingly accepted, what will the people who profited from the misinformation do?

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Future employment for drug counselors? I hope everybody knows that I am a strong advocate for Medical Marijuana/Cannabis based upon its effective, safe medical use for the last 4000 years.

As a physician/pharmacologist/toxicologist who has assiduously studied the subject for 50 plus years I get horn swaggled by frequent articles about how useless, dangerous and addicting that this medicine is.

New Policy Marks Historic Shift From Prior Stance.

(HOUSTON, TEXAS) - Medicinal marijuana garden House of Delegates today adopted a new policy position calling for the review of marijuana’s status as a Schedule I drug in the federal Controlled Substances Act.
