Marijuana Policy Project Welcomes New Director of Communications

Most recently, Gardinier was a producer for “The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC in New York.

(WASHINGTON D.C. ) - Kurt A. Gardinier The Marijuana Policy Project recently hired Kurt A. Gardinier to be the organization’s new director of communications. Gardinier joined MPP earlier this month and officially takes over the communications department from Bruce Mirken on Tuesday, December 22.

Gardinier is based in MPP’s Washington, D.C. office, and among other things will serve as an MPP spokesperson for radio, newspaper and TV interviews.

Congress Lifts Ban On D.C. Medical Marijuana Law

Coming on top of the announcement that the Justice Department will no longer interfere with state medical marijuana laws, this shows that the ground has fundamentally shifted.

(WASHINGTON D.C. MPP) - The U.S. Senate today passed historic legislation to end the decade-long ban on implementing a medical marijuana law in Washington, D.C.

This marks the first time in history Congress has changed a marijuana law for the better. Only Obama’s signature is needed for the change to become law.

PTSD victims have unfortunately discovered the standard meds and treatments by the VA don’t work - but bad as it may be in the long run, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis and other illegal drugs will help, even if for only a short time.

Video Footage Reveals Raid on Rick Simpson Home

Here is actual footage taken during the raid in Canada November 25, 2009.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Apparently without a warrant, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) raided medical marijuana activist Rick Simpson's home. The video below was produced by Christian Laurette, also producer of Run From The Cure.

This is the third police raid since 2005 on the man who cures cancer (and controls many other illnesses) with hemp oil. Police were aware of the cameras in the house due to posted window and door signs.

There is only one good thing about this tragedy, Jessie Bratcher MAY now get proper care probably at a special PTSD Veterans facility in Los Angeles called New Directions.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Judge gavel On Nov. 3, 2009 I posted a similarly titled preliminary article in salem-news.com on the Trial of Jessie Bratcher a two deployment PTSD Veteran from Iraq where he suffered severe psychological and physical trauma.

He was on 100% disability for PTSD by the Veterans Administration. His two tours permanently changed him.

Congress Close to Ending Ban on Medical Marijuana in Washington, D.C.

Advocates noted that the welcome repeal will come too late to help Jonathan Magbie, a D.C. quadriplegic man who died in prison in 2004 from lack of medical care after being convicted for using marijuana to treat his pain.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Marijuana leaf In a historic move, Congress is now poised to end the decade long ban on Washington, D.C. implementing the medical marijuana law District voters passed in 1998 with a 69 percent majority.

Known as the Barr amendment, the provision has forbidden D.C. from extending legal protection to qualified medical marijuana patients.
