Investigation Leads to Drug Arrests, Seized Children, and Recovered Stolen Property

(Keizer) - Officers in Keizer seized several children late Thursday night after investigators determined that they were left in a position where they could access drugs including methamphetamine. Two Keizer residents and two people listed as transients were arrested on drug charges and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, from two separate locations.

Police say items seized included a child`s baby bottle that had been converted to a smoking device for drugs.

Photo of Armed Robbery Suspect Released

Donald Ward faces charges stemming from four armed robberies in Keizer and Salem that left residents weary.

(Keizer) - Donald Ward Police have released the photo of a man arrested in to a string of armed robberies that began last December. Two of the armed robberies happened at the Keizer Walgreen`s store on River Road North, leaving clerks shaken but unharmed. One incident occurred at the Salem Walgreen`s on Lancaster Drive, and one robbery scene was a Blockbuster Video store, also on River Road North in Keizer.

A series of armed robberies in Keizer have left clerks shaken and kept police investigators busy over the past two months; the payoff came Saturday with the arrest of a man believed to be responsible for all four incidents...

(Keizer) - Surveillance photo of suspect in the most recent Keizer Walgreen's armed robbery Photo: Keizer Police Police have arrested a Mill City man that they say is connected to a string of armed robberies which began last December. Three of the incidents were armed robberies at Walgreen`s Pharmacy stores. Two were at the Keizer location, one happened at the Walgreen`s on Lancaster Drive in Salem. A person believed to be the same suspect also robbed the Blockbuster Video, at 5402 River Road North in Keizer.

Keizer Fire and Police Holding Child Safety Clinic on Saturday

Children who use child safety seats should accompany their parents so volunteers can properly fit the seat to the child.

(Keizer) - Salem-News.com The Keizer Fire District along with the Keizer Police Department will be holding a FREE child safety clinic on Saturday.

Keizer Fire District spokesman Jim Trett says the clinics are designed to educate parents on the proper installation on child safety seats.

The clinics will take place at the Keizer Fire District Headquarters, 661 Chemawa Rd NE, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
