`I Am The Cure` HIV Prevention Campaign Launches in Oregon

Independent Spirit Award Nominees Headline 5th Mid-Valley Video Festival

Both films screen on Friday, February 22nd, one day prior to the Spirit Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

(SALEM, Ore.) - mvvfest.org logo 2008 Spirit Award nominees "Vanaja" and "Quiet City" headline the expanded Mid-Valley Video Festival, which features more than 100 independent films during its nine day run at Northern Lights Theatre Pub, the Historic Grand Theater and Loucks Auditorium February 15th -24th.

New programming includes Future Filmmakers, the Digital Blitz Film Challenge, Videomash and Sustainable Saturday and Sunday. Winners of the festival will be recognized February 24th at the Golden Pioneer Awards Ceremony.

Peter Pan at Elsinore Theatre Sunday, January 20th

Peter Pan the high flying musical comes to the Elsinore Theatre, in Salem on Sunday, January 20th for 2 performances only.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Images of the musical Peter Pan Produced by The Park Avenue Worldwide Group, this is a new staging of the musical Peter Pan that features the music and lyrics of Broadway legends Jule Styne, Carolyn Leigh, Mark Charlap and Betty Comden and Adolph Green.

Starring in this production will be Brooke Stone as Peter. Brooke was recently seen in Hairspray, The Beauty and Beast and Grease. Also appearing onstage will be Gary Kimble as Cap’t Hook.

Jefferson Firefighters Assemble and Deliver Christmas Baskets Saturday

Also on Saturday morning, Santa will ride through town on a fire engine, arriving at the Jefferson Community Center at 10:00 AM. He will be handing out candy to all the little visitors.

(JEFFERSON, Ore..) - Jefferson, Oregon firefighters The Jefferson Volunteer Firefighters will once again be preparing and delivering food baskets to those in need living within the Jefferson, Talbot, and Millersburg communities.

Fire District Spokesperson Elaine Parrott says beginning at 8:00 AM this Saturday morning at the Jefferson Fire Station, firefighters will be assembling food boxes, and loading them on fire engines to distribute to those in need within the community.

Independence Parade of Lights Set for Saturday

Refreshments, caroling and a visit from Santa will take place following the parade at the library, which is located at 175 Monmouth St.
