Sex Offender Arrested for Sexual Assault in Beaverton

Police say the story reminds us of the dangers our children face.

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - 22-year old Roger Lester Larocque III Beaverton Police say they arrested an adult sex offender as he was having sex with a 13-year old girl in a transient camp Monday night.

Sgt. Paul Wandell with Beaverton Police says it began when a TriMet fare inspector obtained the names of the pair and identified them as 22-year old Roger Lester Larocque III and a 13 year-old runaway as they were leaving the Beaverton Transit Center.

Early Morning Fire in Beaverton Displaces Seven

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

(BEAVERTON) - fire investigation image Just after midnight this morning, Tualatin Valley firefighters responded to a report from a panicked caller stating that there was a fire at 6355 SW Lombard Avenue in Beaverton.

Within five minutes firefighters arrived to find black smoke showing from the two-story home, which is surrounded by a large apartment complex.

Fortunately all seven tenants who rent the home had safely evacuated.

Stork Comes Twice During Snow And Ice Storm

Crews were able to get the mothers to St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center in time for delivery.

(BEAVERTON) - Two babies in the Beaverton area picked a snowy and icy day to come into the world.

The first was on Hwy 217 at Walker Road.

A family on the way to the hospital became stranded by snowy road conditions, contractions were one minute apart when crews arrived

Oregon Fire Officials Seeing Increase in Sledding Accidents Involving Children

(BEAVERTON) - Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue is now seeing a multitude of incidents involving individuals falling due to slick sideways and parking lots, and sledding accidents involving children home from school.

At 11:00 AM, crews were dispatched to a trauma call involving a 14-year-old male who hit his head against a tree while sledding on the grounds of the LDS Church at 162nd and Sexton Mountain Road.

The teenager was transported to a local hospital with a serious (non-life threatening) head injury.

(BEAVERTON) - Flag raising at Iwo Jima Veterans and special guests will be able to attend a private screening of Clint Eastwood and Stephen Spielberg’s new film about the history of the raising of the flag on Iwo Jima, “Flags of our Fathers” on Friday, October 20th.
