MADD's Opposition to Beers at the White House Exposes Group's Anti-Alcohol Sentiment.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - President Obama with a mug of beer Today, the American Beverage Institute (ABI) criticized Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for publicly lamenting that President Obama chose to hold a “Beer Summit” in an effort to cool tensions between the gentlemen involved in the recent police incident in Cambridge.

“MADD is no longer an organization that opposes drunk driving, but an anti-alcohol group that has been hijacked by the modern day temperance movement,” said Sarah Longwell, ABI Managing Director.

16-Year Old Girl Dies in High Speed Crash

Clackamas County Sheriff's Investigate Fatal Crash Friday Evening On SE Strawberry Lane‏

(MILWAUKIE, Ore.) - Fatal crash Milwaukie, Oregon 7-27-09 A crash involving three teenagers in a late model Mercedes Benz over the weekend claimed the life of one young female passenger, who died after the vehicle struck a telephone pole during the high speed crash.

Detective Jim Strovink, Public Information Officer with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, says two other teens inside the car were transported from the scene with non-life threatening injuries.

Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash on Highway 26 west of Elsie (PHOTOS)

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police say alcohol is a possible contributing factor.

(ELSIE, Ore.) - Fatal crash near Elsie, Oregon 7-21-09 Oregon State Police troopers have cleared the scene of Monday afternoon's fatal traffic crash on Highway 26 west of Elsie. They say their investigation of the incident is continuing. The victim's name is being released following confirmation and next of kin notification.

OSP Sergeant Andrew Merila says Monday at approximately 4:17 p.m. a full-size Chevrolet pickup driven by 37-year old William J. Pierce of Hillsboro, was westbound on Highway 26 near milepost 20.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fatal Oregon crash, 7-4-06 Preliminary statistics reported this morning by ODOT's Fatality Analysis Reporting Unit, known as "FARS", following the 54-hour Fourth of July holiday reporting period reflects the second fewest number of traffic fatalities in Oregon during this holiday period since 1970.

FARS statistics reflects the Fourth of July holiday period as the deadliest major holiday weekend of the year in Oregon.

Idaho Man Critically Injured After Nearly Crashing Into OSP Patrol Car on Highway 95 South of Jordan Valley

(JORDAN VALLEY, Ore.) - Crash near Jordan Valley, Oregon Police say an Idaho man is in critical condition following a Wednesday night crash south of Jordan Valley where he reportedly almost hit an Oregon State Police trooper's patrol car before traveling off Highway 95 and rolling several times.

The ongoing investigation indicates alcohol is a possible contributing factor. The driver is identified as 41-year old Enrique Casas Valdez of Kuna, Idaho.

Beaverton‏ Bar Fight Lands Seven in Jail

The fight started when a man's wife who was singing karaoke, was insulted and slapped on the rear by another patron.

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Clockwise from top left: Wilson Rivas, Javier Abarca, Juan Zambranos and Miguel Hernandez Deputies in Washington County were called to the Azteca Restaurant in Beaverton early this morning on a fight involving patrons and security. Seven people were arrested and two were taken to area hospitals, according to Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. David Thompson.

He says that the report came in at 2:19 a.m. about a large group of people fighting at the Azteca restaurant on SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway.

The initial investigation according to Sgt. Bob Ray with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, revealed that a 1989 Jeep Cherokee driven by 26 year-old Chad Saviers of Beaverton, crashed while it was Westbound on West Union Road.

DUII Injury Crash Sends Vancouver Woman to Hospital and Leads to Charges

Traffic on Highway 224 at the scene was down to one lane for an hour.

(CARVER, Ore.) - DUII involved crash in Carver, Oregon 4-12-09 Oregon State Police say they cited a Vancouver, Washington woman for DUII Saturday evening after the car she was driving flipped onto its top on Highway 224 east of Carver, leaving her injured.

OSP Trooper Justin Lane says preliminary information indicates that 46-year old Robyn Renee Thompson's blood alcohol level was more than 4 times the legal .08 limit.

Police Plan DUII Saturation Patrols

The annual Newport Seafood and Wine Festival is being held in Newport during the weekend, and Highway 20 has historically had a lot of traffic.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - OSP cars On Friday, February 20, 2009, and Saturday, February 21, 2009, the Benton County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with the Oregon State Police, will participate in a DUII saturation patrol.

The focus will be on Highway 20, between Corvallis and the Lincoln County line.
