Death of 14-Year Old Lebanon Boy Was Probably Accidental

The case remains open pending additional interviews with witnesses and the results of the toxicological examination.

(LEBANON, Ore.) - Death investigation Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports a medical examiner has ruled the death of a 14 year old Lebanon boy as accidental.

Sunday, at about 12:30 PM, neighborhood children who were playing hide and seek discovered the body of Quentin Alexander Thacker in a large vacant lot at the intersection of 9th and C Streets in Lebanon. His bicycle was found nearby.

The investigation by Linn County Sheriff's detectives revealed that Mr. Thacker had fallen face down into a drainage ditch.

Carlton Man Faces Manslaughter and DUII Charges From Quadruple Fatal Crash Near Pendleton

The driver was treated and released for minor injuries, then arrested on four counts of second-degree Manslaughter and DUII.

(PENDLETON, Ore.) - 46-year old John Cole Carlgren of Carlton A Carlton-area man is in custody at the Umatilla County Jail on multiple charges following an early Sunday morning crash on Interstate 84 about ten miles east of Pendleton that killed three men and a woman. Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation with the assistance of the Umatilla County District Attorney's Office and no more information is being released today.

Preliminary investigation indicates that early this morning at approximately 12:19 AM, a 1991 Chevrolet Beretta driven by 29-year old Jesse Cline of Hermiston, was westbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 219 when it was struck from behind by a westbound 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup driven by 46-year old John Cole Carlgren of Carlton.

State Police troopers say the preliminary highway area of impact is on the right shoulder. After impact the Chevrolet traveled across the westbound lanes and came to rest on the left shoulder, and the Dodge pickup came to rest on the right shoulder.

Fatal Crash Sunday Near Dundee Leads to Arrest of Driver

Driver arrested over fatal traffic crash last weekend on Highway 99W south of Newberg.

(DUNDEE, Ore.) - 26-year old Leonel Zurita Loeza Police arrested the driver of a car involved in Sunday afternoon's fatal traffic crash that resulted in the death of a Dayton woman.

Carma Smith died when a vehicle driven by 26-year old Leonel Zurita Loeza crossed the center grass median on Highway 99W near Dundee, flew into the air and struck her car. Troopers arrested the man upon his release Monday afternoon from a Portland-area hospital.

Driver Receives 95 Month Sentence for Fatal March Crash

The driver of the Honda was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene where he was pronounced deceased.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Fatal crash scene in Oregon, 3-6-08 A man driving a vehicle in a March 4th 2008 crash that caused the death of a Eugene man, was sentenced to 95 months in prison in Lane County Circuit Court on Tuesday.

41-year old Eduardo Gutierrez of Eugene, was sentenced to 95 months in prison after being convicted of Manslaughter II, Assault III, DUII and Reckless Driving related to a fatal traffic crash on Highway 99 north of Eugene.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Teen driver being pulled over The state DMV says Oregon's adult citizens under age 21 should think twice about drinking alcohol. As of January 1st, they can lose their driver licenses without even getting into a car if they have any type of alcohol violation.

The new law passed by the 2007 Oregon Legislature allows courts to deny the driving privileges of residents if they have had any contact with police over drinking, even at a private party.

81% of Yamhill County Businesses Pass OLCC Minor Sales Check

The agency views 81% compliance as positive.

(YAMHILL, Ore.) - Liquor store 43 of 53 businesses in Yamhill County passed an Oregon Liquor Control Commission minor sales check on March 21st by refusing to sell alcohol to a minor.

The 81 percent passing rate is above the statewide average of 78 percent. The commission performs the minor sales checks in an effort to reduce drinking by minors, which is a serious problem throughout the state.
