Two Albany Men Arrested on Drug Charges

(ALBANY) - Billy Raymond Bremer and John Edward Dizig Photo: Linn County Sheriff The Linn Drug Task Force just before 9:00 AM executed a search warrant at 406 SE 5th Avenue in Albany Friday morning.

Two Albany men were arrested and seized during the search warrant, were packaging material, drug records, drug paraphernalia, scales, and heroin Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller said.

Albany Station Earns Downtown Excellence Award

(ALBANY) - Albany Station, the City of Albany`s recently renovated multimodal transportation center, has received a 2006 Award in Downtown Excellence from the Oregon Downtown Development Association.

The Albany center received an award for excellence in transit/transportation, the only award in that category.
The Albany multimodal transportation center consolidates park-and-ride, bus transfers, and passenger train service in an attractive and period-appropriate gateway to Albany`s downtown.

Albany Credit Union Robbed Friday

The suspect was last seen walking east on SE 7th Ave.

(ALBANY) - Photo of suspect in Albany credit union robbery Albany police are asking for the public`s help in locating and identifying a suspect that robbed the Albany Northwest Community Credit Union located at 707 S.E. Waverly Drive on Friday.

Albany police spokesman Capt. Eric Carter says officers were dispatched to the bank just before 11:30 AM.

The investigation revealed that a lone suspect entered the credit union and displayed a demand note to a teller...

Linn Drug Team Search Warrant Leads to Arrests

(ALBANY) - Counterclockwise from lower left; Deanna Renee Paul, Ranae Marie Anderson and Santos Albert Rivera Drug arrests in Albany and Lebanon in recent days have landed three residents in jail on a number of charges, the arrests also led to a child being removed from a home and placed in protective custody by the Department of Human Services.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says that on Wednesday April 12th, the Linn Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 1105 SW Washington St. in Albany. Seized in the raid were suspected Methamphetamine, scales, drug paraphernalia, cash, drug records and miscellaneous prescription pills.

OSP Troopers Cite Three Drivers Near Albany For Going Over 100 MPH

Between 2000 and 2004, troopers cited more the 2,600 drivers for going 100 mph or faster.

(ALBANY) - OSP trooper pulls over a speeder on I-5 Sunday was a busy day on Oregon highways with thousands of motorists returning from spring break activities, but it didn't keep 3 drivers from traveling at over 100 mph on Interstate 5 near Albany.

One of the drivers went to jail after the trooper determined he was wanted on three warrants and his driving privileges were revoked.

On Sunday, at approximately 7:27 AM, Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Hales stopped a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 225 after detecting the car going 107 mph.

Lebanon Woman Arrested for Animal Neglect

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports that a Lebanon woman has been arrested for multiple counts of animal neglect.

(ALBANY) - A Lebanon woman faces 19 counts of animal neglect stemming from an investigation on her property at 39627 Mount Hope Road in Lebanon.

46-year old Cheryl Ann Hainz-Justice was arrested and taken to the Linn County Jail for 19 counts of Animal Neglect I.

Hainz-Justice was arrested by deputies who began their investigation after a report was turned into the Sheriff's Office on January 27th...

UPDATE: Two Arrested in Albany Officer Involved Shooting

(ALBANY) - Shawn Kenneth Oard and Joe Luis Duran Police have arrested two men in connection with an officer involved shooting the occurred on Wednesday in which an officer fired his duty weapon at a reportedly stolen vehicle as it accelerated towards him.

Albany police spokesman Capt. Eric Carter says 42-year old Joe Luis Duran, identified as the driver of the reported stolen 1979 Chevy pickup, was taken into custody at a residence in the 1900 block of SE 6th Avenue.

Police need the public`s help in locating 42-year old Joe Luis Duran and the identity of his passenger.

(ALBANY) - Joe Luis Duran Photo: Albany Police An officer involved shooting that occurred Wednesday in Albany is under investigation by the Oregon State Police, and the Linn County District Attorney`s Office.

Albany Police Captain Eric Carter says just after 10:00 AM, an officer stopped a 1999 Chevy pickup with two occupants in the 2600 block of SE 18th Avenue.

In the process of conducting his stop of the pickup, which had pulled into a driveway, the officer learned that it was a stolen vehicle. The driver attempted to flee the scene and the officer fired his duty weapon at the pickup as it accelerated directly at the officer...

(ALBANY) - The Womens Vietnam Veteran Memorial Women veterans from every branch of the service and of all ages and backgrounds will gather in Albany at the Linn County Expo Center, March 23rd, for the bi-annual Oregon Women`s Veterans Conference.

Many women who served in the military do not realize that they miss out on the benefits they earned as a result of their service. This one-day conference serves as an educational tool, and more importantly a day of celebration for the service and sacrifices of women veterans throughout history in defense of our country.

(ALBANY) - Border Collie International Performing dogs, actors, and rubber stamp art will highlight programs for children at Albany Public Library during public school spring vacation at the end of March.
