(SALEM, Ore. ) - Current Shelton High School senior and Cascade Conference co-Most Valuable Player Brittany Bowman (Shelton, Wash.) signed her Letter of Intent last week, and will begin playing women's soccer at Corban College next season, as announced by thirteen-year head coach Marty Ziesemer.
As a 2007 senior, Bowman scored 12 goals and handed out three assists en route to being named 1st team all-state.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Four different Warriors scored in double figures led by junior Wade Douglas' 12 points and six rebounds, but Corban's men's basketball team could not hold off the 'Yotes of The College of Idaho, 62-56, Saturday inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
Along with Douglas, junior Kyle Masten, freshman Clay Martin, and junior Jason Braun recorded 11, 11, and 10 points respectively. The quartet combined to score 44 of the Warriors' 53 points or 83.0% of Corban's scoring on the night.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Senior Jessica Steigleman, junior Ashley Connell, and sophomore Emily Goette combined to scored 40 points, but Corban's women's basketball team fell to The College of Idaho, 80-61, Saturday inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center to wrap up the first half of CCC play.
Steigleman led the trio with a team-high 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field that included 3-for-4 from beyond the three-point line. Meanwhile, Goette recorded a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds while Connell added 10 points before fouling out.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Freshman guard Talisa Rhea set an Oregon State single-game record with eight three-pointers to pace the Beavers past Washington State, 60-35, Saturday night at legendary Gill Coliseum.
The eight three-pointers were just one shy of tying the Pacific-10 Conference record of nine last recorded by Stanford’s Lindsey Yamasaki against Washington on Feb. 24, 2001.
The Juneau, Alaska native knocked down four three-pointers in each half and finished the game with a career-best 24 points. The freshman took 13 shots – all three-pointers – and finished with three assists and one rebound.

On the women’s side, Keshia Baker earned a victory in the 300 meter dash, outdistancing her nearest challenger by more than a second with a time of 38.34. Kavina Hall (fourth, 40.66), Leah Worthen (fifth, 40.67) and Jamesha Youngblood (sixth, 40.76) finished in the top six for the Ducks.

(ATLANTA) - The Atlanta Braves announced on Thursday night that they've avoided going to arbitration with four players -- Mark Teixeira, Omar Infante, Tyler Yates and Mike Gonzalez. Their only two arbitration-eligible players who remain unsigned are Rafael Soriano and Matt Diaz.
Teixeira, who combined to hit .306 with 30 homers and 105 RBIs with the Braves and Rangers last year, will make $12.5 million for the upcoming season.

PETERSBURG) - The Tampa Bay Rays have agreed to terms with first baseman Carlos Peña on a one-year contract that can extend through 2010, pending the completion of a physical.
The potential three-year contract would pay Peña $24.125 million over three years. As part of his contract, Peña will donate $225,000 to the Rays Baseball Foundation, the team's charitable foundation that supports youth and education programs in the Tampa Bay region.
