(SEATTLE) - Jon Brockman scored 21 points and had 16 rebounds while Ryan Appleby emerged from a deep funk to score a season-high 19 as Washington defeated Oregon 78-70 Thursday night for the Huskies' first Pac-10 win of the season.
Brockman had his conference-leading 11th double-double of the season for Washington (10-7, 1-3 Pac-10). Maarty Leunen scored 22 points to go with his six rebounds for the Ducks (12-5, 3-2), who next play at No. 8 Washington State on Sunday.

The game will kickoff at 4 p.m. PST and air on ESPN 2.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Brittney Davis led all scorers with 23 points and Talisa Rhea tied a career-high with 18 as the Oregon State women’s basketball team overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Washington, 68-64, Thursday night at legendary Gill Coliseum.
Davis reached the double-figure scoring mark for the 11th time this season and the 20-point plateau for the fourth time. She was 9-for-15 from the floor and 3-for-8 from beyond the three-point line.

The victory gave Alaska its first Great Northwest Athletic Conference victory of the year (1-4) and the Nanooks improved to 8-6 overall. Western Oregon fell to 0-4 in the GNAC and to 4-9 overall.

The owners endorsed Selig, who replaced the deposed Fay Vincent on an interim basis on Sept. 9, 1992, on the heels of the release last month of the Mitchell Report, the result of an investigation into the use of performance-enhancing drugs in baseball.

During his two seasons at Linfield, Elliott (6-3, 210) won 23 of his 24 starts and led the Wildcats to the Division III National Championship in 2004. (NASHVILLE) - Willamette University cross country and track and field athlete Sarah Zerzan received an NCAA Today's Top VIII Award during the 2008 NCAA Honors Celebration, held on Sunday, as part of the NCAA Convention in Nashville, Tenn.
Zerzan won back-to-back NCAA Division III individual national championships in cross country in 2006 and 2007. She became only the third athlete to repeat as the women's champion in the 27-year history of the NCAA Division III National Championships.
