(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Portland State’s 35-24 victory over Sacramento State last Saturday at PGE Park did not come without residual awards.
On Monday, the Big Sky Conference announced that quarterback Brian White is the league’s Offensive Player of the Week, and linebacker Jordan Senn is the Defensive Player of the Week.
White, a senior from Mission Viejo, CA, completed 26 of 37 passes for 363 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, leading the Vikings to the come-from-behind victory over Sacramento State. Read Full Article

(TACOMA, Wash.) - The University of Puget Sound, ranked #7 in the D3Kicks.com NCAA Division III Poll, built a 3-1 lead in the first half and held off Willamette University for a 3-2 win in a Northwest Conference game on Sunday.
Puget Sound claimed a 1-0 lead just 12:46 into the contest on an unassisted goal by Adrienne Folsom.
The Bearcats tied the game about eight minutes later at 20:50, when Lauren Miller scored on a shot from the left corner of the box into the upper right corner of the goal.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Two teams from the same calendar year and two individuals who played soccer and basketball are included in the Willamette University Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2007.
Set for induction are the 1997 Bearcat football team and the 1996-97 women’s swimming team, plus Russell Sovde ‘90 and Tracy Thom ‘88.
Sovde competed for the men’s soccer and basketball teams, while Thom played for the women’s soccer and basketball squads.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - The schedule for the Oregon State baseball team’s trip to the White House has been officially announced.
The Beavers will celebrate their 2006 and 2007 national championships by meeting with President George W. Bush on Friday at 3:25 p.m. ET (12:25 p.m. PT).
Oregon State became the first collegiate baseball team to repeat in 10 years when it took home the 2007 title.
“It’s a great time for our guys to stand outside the nation’s capitol and realize what it means to live in this country and have the opportunity to chase dreams,” Beavers Head Coach Pat Casey said.

(LOS ANGELES ) - Behind hat tricks from Jodie Taylor and Red Nixon, the Oregon State women's soccer team defeated Lamar, 8-0, Sunday at the LMU/Four Points Sheraton Culver City Classic.
The eight goals equaled Oregon State's original record for goals in a match set Nov. 3, 1988 against Linfield.
Taylor’s and Nixon’s three-goal efforts marked just the second and third hat tricks in the history of the Loyola Marymount tournament.

(ATLANTA) - Tiger Woods never liked tournaments where birdies were required simply to keep up.
He managed just fine Saturday at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola, where a 6-under 64 only allowed him to keep his three-shot margin at the pushover known as East Lake.
Even after a week of low scoring because of soft, slow greens, the third round was mystifying.
