(SALEM, Ore. ) - Maddie Coffman took first place in the women's race and Ian Batch won the men's race, leading Willamette University to both team titles at the WU Grass Course cross country meet Saturday at Bush's Pasture Park.
The Willamette women's team took five of the top eight places, while the WU men's squad provided five of the top six finishers in the men's race.
Coffman completed the 5-kilometer women's course in 18:52.92 for roughly a nine-second lead over teammate Jena Winger, who took second place in 19:01.97. Read Full Article

(SALT LAKE CITY) - Tommy Grady threw for three touchdowns, Darrell Mack ran for 107 yards and Utah capitalized on a long list of mistakes by No. 11 UCLA in a 44-6 upset of the Bruins on Saturday.
Robert Johnson made two interceptions and forced a fumble at the 2-yard line, making what could have been a touchdown into one of five turnovers by the Bruins (2-1).
UCLA committed 10 penalties and unraveled in the second half as Utah (1-2) scored 30 straight points and beat the Bruins for the first time. Read Full Article

Stafon Johnson ran for 144 yards and one of USC's five rushing touchdowns and John David Booty threw two short TD passes in a 49-31 victory Saturday night.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Junior Chelsea Reeher recorded a career-high 24 kills and sophomore setter Amy Thompson handed out a career-high 71 assists, as Corban's women's volleyball team defeated first-year conference member Northwest Christian, 3-1 (30-28, 30-26, 36-38, 31-29), on Saturday inside the Jeffers Sports Center.
Along with Reeher's career-high in kills, Thompson handed the third most assists in Warrior women's volleyball history as she joined former Warrior Chris Neely (1997-2000) as the only Corban duo to have recorded 70-or-more assists in a single match. Read Full Article

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - After suffering its first loss of the season yesterday, the Oregon volleyball team responded by defeating its first top-25 team of the year, 20th-ranked Ohio State in a three-game sweep (30-17, 30-18, 30-27) at the Big Ten/ Pac-10 Challenge on Saturday evening.
The Ducks improve to 11-1 and register their 11th three-game sweep of the season.
The win over the Buckeyes was Oregon’s first victory over a ranked opponent since knocking off No. 8 California on Oct. 19, 2006 in Berkeley. Read Full Article

While Dixon threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, Jonathan Stewart ran for 165 yards and No. 19 Oregon beat Fresno State 52-21 on Saturday night.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Quarterback Brian White led a fourth-quarter comeback and linebacker Jordan Senn capped it off with a big defensive play at the end as the Portland State Vikings won their Big Sky Conference opener over Sacramento State, 35-24.
With the Vikings trailing 24-14 midway through the third quarter, White engineered a 15-play, 85-yard drive.
A fourth-down conversion by fullback Olaniyi Sobomehin at the Hornets’ 34-yard line led to the senior fullbacks’ nine-yard touchdown run a moment later.
