CLEVELAND - Former Oregon State University quarterback Derek Anderson (2001-04) tied a franchise record with five touchdown passes as the Cleveland Browns edged the Cincinnati Bengals 51-45 Sunday in Cleveland.

Anderson completed 20 of 33 pass attempts for 328 yards. Joe Jurevicius and Braylon Edwards each caught two of Anderson's touchdown passes, while Kellen Winslow gathered the other.

Bengals receivers and former Beavers Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh also had standout games.

Johnson caught 11 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns, while Houshmandzadeh grabbed eight passes for 69 yards and two scores.

Anderson figures to get another start next week when the Browns travel to the winless Oakland Raiders.

Several other Beavers were in action Sunday as well, including the St. Louis Rams’ Steven Jackson rushing for 60 yards in a home loss to the San Francisco 49ers, defensive tackle Dwan Edwards had three stops in the Baltimore Ravens’ victory over the New York Jets, linebacker Nick Barnett had a team-high seven tackles in the Green Bay Packers’ win over the New York Giants and safety Sabby Piscitelli had a tackle in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ win over the New Orleans Saints
