(TACOMA, Wash.) - Using a handful of big defensive plays and couple lucky breaks, the Puget Sound Loggers picked up their first conference win of the season, defeating the Willamette Bearcats, 13-7, in a Northwest Conference football game in front of 3,712 fans on Saturday afternoon on Peyton Field at Baker Stadium in Tacoma, Wash.
The Bearcats (2-4, 1-1 NWC) got on the scoreboard first when Skylar Swinford hustled the ball 17 yards to cap a seven-play, 60-yard drive and the Matt Bicocca PAT was good as Willamette took a 7-0 lead. Read Full Article

(NAMPA, Idaho) - Freshman Naomi Shimabuku broke a scoreless tie at the 75-minute mark, leading Western Oregon to a 1-0 women's soccer win over Northwest Nazarene on Saturday in Nampa.
The win, the third for WOU in their last four outings, allowed them to improve to 3-6 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and 3-10-2 overall. Northwest Nazarene dropped to 4-5 in conference play and 7-6-1 overall.
