BEND, Ore. - The Oregon State baseball team scrimmaged in front 1,757 at Vince Genna Stadium in Bend Saturday afternoon. The team dressed in black defeated the gray team, 17-6.

The scrimmage marked the second straight season in which the Beavers worked out for their fans in Central Oregon.

Head coach Pat Casey and his staff split the club into the two teams, balancing each squad based on position availability and experience.

“It’s great to come back to Bend,” Casey said. “We had a great experience last year and we’re very happy they asked us to come back. We really want to thank the fans for their support. We had great weather and it was a great day overall.

“We wanted to create an atmosphere and tempo like what we’ll play in. I’m less worried about the performance than I am the energy and tempo.”
