Marijuana vs Dangerous Drugs: Doctors Forcing Patients to Use Them

Let's get the record straight about this money maker!

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - I was outraged to read in the New York Times (Aug 2 2013) “A Boom in Drug Testing” with pain doctors especially requiring patients to do urine screening to monitor which drugs patients are taking and which drugs they were NOT TAKING.

They want patients to take the hated anti-depressants and prescribed morphine-like drugs such as Oxycontin. There are probably a few more hated, zombifying drugs, but most readers know what I’m talking about.

The New York Times says urine testing will bring in 2 billion dollars in 2013, and individual doctors can bring in up to $150,000 eachfrom the tests and $130,000 for reading the results. Some of this is from illegal kick backs to the doctors.

To clarify what is going on, at a North Carolina Veteran’s Administration hospital 800 pain patients were urine tested. One-fourth were not taking their prescribed drugs, probably the zombifying anti-depressants or Oxycontin, or Percocet, but were probably using Heroin and/or marijuana both of which are preferred to the prescriptions.

One urine screen company said that of 500,000 tests, 1/3 of the patients were not taking their prescribed drugs. In 75% of those cases, the patients were not taking their narcotic pain killers (but probably using marijuana).

One urine testing company Ameritox was paying doctors kickbacks for ordering the tests.

The company was fined $14 million dollars. Another company along the same lines, Calloway Laboratories was fined $20 million dollars. Several other testing laboratories are under state of federal investigations. The money for fines is coming out of petty cash. The urine testing companies are making millions.

To discover for myself what are considered the most dangerous drugs, I discovered Heroin, coke, Barbiturates, street Methadone, Benzodiazapines, Amphetamines, and anti-depressants. But there are two drugs far, far dangerous: Alcohol and Tobacco.

Some people throw in marijuana as a dangerous drug. I don’t know why. It has never killed anybody. It has in fact replaced many of the dangerous prescribed drugs I have written about.

The U.S. government says about 50 million people use marijuana. There has been NO epidemic of harm.

MARIJUANA IS A USEFUL, SAFE DRUG.
