Mother Shot, Brothers Missing: Police Issue Amber Alert

Two brothers are missing and police say the man who took them could be heading for Mexico.
(SUNLAND, Calif.) -
The California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert Sunday afternoon after two children were abducted and their mother shot multiple times in Sunland. They say the suspect is armed and believed to be heading to Mexico.
The suspect is 27-year-old Jose Luis Ortega, a Hispanic male, 5'6" tall, 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. When last seen he was wearing a white shirt and jeans. The CHP says the suspect vehicle is a 1998 black Ford Ranger pickup truck with California license plate 7Z19738.

George W. Bush probably isn't very concerned yet, but the water could heat up very quickly in the wake of a Congressional Impeachment hearing that took place this week. It may be getting a surprising lack of media attention, but former Democratic presidential contender, Dennis Kucinich, has called for the impeachment of Bush claiming that he was deceptive toward the nation and that he violated his oath of office with the Iraq war.
C-SPAN and Air America went live as the Ohio representative introduced 35 articles of impeachment against Bush on the floor of the US House of Representatives.

Embracing policies which largely backed those of the more hawkish voices concerned with Middle Eastern affairs, he received a standing ovation for his efforts.

Cockfighting and Dogfighting in the Sights of Oregon`s Attorney General

Oregon's AG says animal fighting is frequently tied to other illegal activity such as drug trafficking.
(SALEM, Ore.) -
State Attorney General Hardy Myers is part of a new joint effort designed to reduce illegal cockfighting and dogfighting in Oregon. Myers, Senate President Peter Courtney and The Humane Society of the United States will make an official announcement Thursday.
Part of that announcement includes the creation of a new tip hotline hosted by the Oregon Department of Justice that allows and encourages members of the public to submit information about illegal cockfighting or dogfighting in Oregon.
