Father Arrested in Death of 5-Year Old Daughter

Anyone with information on the case should call Gresham Police.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Handcuffs A Gresham father and his live-in girlfriend have been arrested in the Murder of the man's small child.

Christopher A. Rosillo and Guadalupe Quintero, both of Gresham, face charges in the death of Rosillo's daughter, Oleander Labier.

New Skatepark is First of its Kind for Gresham

Gresham worked closely with residents and community groups to ensure the park will be compatible with other nearby uses.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Gresham skatepark The city of Gresham recently opened the first phase of its planned 14,000 square foot skate plaza at Main City Park on S. Main Avenue.

Laura Bridges-Shepard, Gresham's Communications Manager, says the first phase is comprised of street elements that include stairs, banks, ramps, ledges, and other urban street course design features totaling 5,710 square feet.

Couple Arrested in Murder of 3-Year Old Child in Sandy

Four additional children of the arrested couple were taken by Child Custody officials.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - 27-year old Donald L. Cockrell and 24-year old Michelle N. Smith were arrested on Murder charges in Oregon 1-10-09 Clackamas County Sheriff's Office investigators continued their investigation of the the death of a three-year-old child in Sandy that was reported Saturday. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Spokesman, Det. Jim Strovink, says officials are not releasing the name of the child.

Investigators say the child lived at the residence with the biological father, 27-year old Donald L. Cockrell.

Widespread Use of TV a Concern in Home-Based Child Care

Study reveals problems in meeting nutritional standards.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Kid eating and watching TV A large study of family child care providers shows that while nutrition standards are often met, most children ages 2 to 5 are not getting enough physical activity and are exposed to the television for most of the day.

A study of about 300 home-based child care providers by Oregon State University’s Stewart Trost, an internationally-recognized expert on childhood obesity issues, sheds light on both positive and negative aspects of family daycare providers.

Support of Ukrainian immigrant religious community fails to help parents of children who sought refuge with police.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 40-year old Alexander Kozlov and 39-year old Lyudmila Kozlov Criminal cases involving the criminal mistreatment of the children of a Ukrainian immigrant couple, began winding to a close today.

Alexander Kozlov & Lyudmila Kozlov, were both found guilty on nine counts of criminal mistreatment involving the abuse of their children.
