Update on Serious Explosion in Woodburn that Injured Police

Isham says a multi-agency investigation involving federal, state, county and city police agencies has begun to identify the person(s) responsible in this tragic incident.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Marion County Sheriff badge Law enforcement agencies have descended on Woodburn, Oregon, where an explosion ripped through a bank today seriously injuring three police officers. A bank employee received injuries that are described as minor.

Marion County Sheriff Russ Isham says this morning at approximately 10:32 AM, a Woodburn-area Wells Fargo Bank received a threatening phone call from an unknown person.

"Bank personnel notified Woodburn Police Department and the bank was evacuated while police investigated with the assistance of the FBI and an Oregon State Police bomb technician," Isham said.

Explosive Device Blows Up Seriously Injuring Police in Woodburn (AUDIO)

The device detonated at a Woodburn area bank.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Explosion injures police Federal, state, county and local police are beginning an investigation into a Friday afternoon incident that seriously injured police at a Woodburn area bank.

They say that today during the late afternoon hours, Woodburn police, with the assistance of FBI and an Oregon State Police Bomb Technician were investigating a suspicious device at the West Coast Bank on Highway 214 east of Interstate 5.

While officers were in the area the device detonated resulting in serious injuries.

Four Arrested During Search of Woodburn Residence‏

Deputies are still attempting to locate 40-year old Fred Basargin.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Woodburn residence where the stolen goods were located. Marion County investigators arrested several people at 7:30 AM Tuesday morning, while serving a search warrant at 2381 Meadow Lane in Woodburn. Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Sheriff's Office, says the search was based on evidence obtained from a Burglary that occurred on December 3rd, at a shop on Carl Road in Woodburn.

"Deputies located over 100 stolen items throughout the house and a shop at the Meadow Lane address, including power tools, chainsaws, air compressors and a dirt bike," Lorance said.

Sheriff's Office evidence technicians and deputies are working to connect the remaining stolen property with any other Burglaries or Thefts in the area and hope to locate the owners of that property.

Woodburn Police Officer Struck by Car While Directing Traffic (UPDATE)

The Woodburn police officer received non-life threatening injuries and is being transported to Silverton Hospital for treatment. This update clarifies the names of the individuals involved.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Woodburn, Ore. PD logo Oregon State Police are conducting an investigation into a Woodburn police officer being struck by a vehicle on the Highway 214 overpass at Interstate 5. OSP reports that they are doing this at the request of the Woodburn Police Department.

Preliminary information indicates that today around 3:26 PM, a Woodburn police officer was outside of his patrol vehicle directing traffic at the scene of a previous traffic crash just west of Interstate 5 on Highway 214. The 29-year old male officer was struck by a pickup attempting to turn from westbound Highway 214 onto the southbound Interstate 5 on ramp.

The Woodburn police officer, a four a half year veteran with their department, received non-life threatening injuries and is being transported to Silverton Hospital for treatment.

Thanksgiving Day Fire in Woodburn Results in No Injuries

Nobody was home at the residence when a passer by called 911 to report the fire.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - The Woodburn and Aurora Fire Districts were called into action on Thanksgiving Day for a house fire in the 17000 block of Butteville Road.

A spokesman for Woodburn Fire says the initial response at 10:26 AM included three engines, three tenders, a ladder truck and an air support unit.

While responding to the call as a possible fire, dispatch received updated information confirming the house was on fire. Arriving on scene, Woodburn Engine 21 reported a two story farm house with heavy fire showing from the front.

Woodburn Man Arrested on Kidnapping Charges

‏Police say the suspect also had warrants for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Giving False Information.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - 29-year old Miguel Serratos-Jimenez of Woodburn Marion County deputies arrested a Woodburn man for kidnapping and other charges last night, after he allegedly kidnapped his girlfriend and her three children.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office was called out to a report of a man with a gun in the 300 Block of Main Street in Jefferson, Oregon, at 11:00 PM.

When deputies arrived, they arrested 29-year old Miguel Serratos-Jimenez of Woodburn on four counts of Kidnapping, Menacing, Reckless Endangering and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine.

Two Men Die in Woodburn Oregon Shooting

Gunshots rang out Monday night, leaving two men dead and one is hospitalized.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Salem-News.com shooting Woodburn Police responded to reported gunshots Monday night about 10:30 in the area of 561 Hall St, Woodburn. On scene, police discovered 3 men outside the residence who had been shot while in or near their vehicle.

Two Illegal Immigrants Among Those Arrested During Meth Sweep

Marion County Meth Strike Force Meth Investigation results in arrests, drug, cash & vehicle seizures.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Meth and cash seized during raid in Oregon, 4-10-08 Marion County's Meth Strike Force detectives say they concluded a three month long drug investigation early this morning. Several people were arrested and meth and money were seized from several residences.

Salem Police Lt. Jim Anglemier says the investigation began with information revealed during traffic stop. During the investigation, nearly four pounds of crystal methamphetamine was seized.

(SALEM, Ore.) - In commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Birthday, Life and Legacy of Cesar E. Chavez, Voz Hispana Causa Chavista, a non-profit organization will participate in a car caravan with allies this Saturday to register voters and encourage Latinos to vote in the upcoming elections.

This weekend's caravan is just one of the many activities Voz Hispana has planned this year to encourage Latino voter turn-out.
