Man Tries to Rob Woodburn 7-11

Anyone with information on this case is urged to call Woodburn police at 503-982-2345.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - police search Woodburn police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who tried to rob a 7-11 store Sunday night.

Police say the suspect walked in to the store located on North Pacific Highway around 10:30 p.m., showed a knife and tried to rob the store. After exchanging words with a customer, the suspect waved the knife and ran off.

Oregon Police Say Traffic Stop Led to Seizure of 20 Kilos of Cocaine

They say it led to one arrest on Interstate 5 south of Woodburn.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Cocaine photograph - Oregon State Police Oregon State Police troopers say they arrested a Clackamas man Tuesday after they discovered 20 kilos of cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 south of Woodburn.

The OSP's Lieutenant Gregg Hastings says the cocaine was hidden in a sport utility vehicle the man was driving northbound on the freeway.

Driver Arrested Following Serious Injury Crash Near Woodburn

Police aren't sure if the cars had slowed or stopped on the freeway just before impact.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Crash scene on I-5 in Oregon, 2-3-08 Police say a Salem-area man was arrested early Sunday morning following a four vehicle alcohol-involved injury crash southbound Interstate 5 about three miles south of Woodburn. One person was critically injured and four others received non-life threatening injuries, including the arrested driver who has been lodged in Marion County Jail.

Saturday at approximately 1:00 AM, a 2002 Chevrolet Impala was southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 268 in the left lane when it crashed into the back of 1992 Honda Civic which in turn was driven into several other cars.

Investigators Process Search Warrant Seized Property In Gervais

Volunteers are working to return calls to possible victims who have left information on that hotline, the police say it is going to take a while.

(GERVAIS, Ore.) - Police tape A 15-person Task Force comprised of personnel from the Salem Police Department, Marion County Sheriff's Office, Woodburn Police Department, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police are continuing to process and research property seized in search warrants served on the property of Ivan Cam at 9884 Mt Angel-Gervais Rd NE, Gervais.

Salem Police Lt. Dave Okada says this investigation began with the theft of a vehicle from a residential burglary in Salem early last December.

4 Arrested for Running Craigslist Prostitution Ring

Police are warning both prostitutes and those who use their services that exchanging money for sexual acts is a crime and can be dangerous.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - jail hands Four people were arrested by Woodburn police, accused of a running a prostitution ring involving the popular website Craigslist.

Woodburn police say they looked for ad postings on Craigslist.com for people soliciting sex in exchange for money. On Thursday night, undercover officers met each of the suspects at a Woodburn motel and made the arrests.

Several Agencies Assist in Woodburn House Fire

This was the third structure fire in the last 12 hours Woodburn Fire responded on.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Fire in Woodburn, Oregon, 11-23-07 A house in Woodburn was a total loss after an intense fire this morning. Fortunately there were no injuries. Woodburn's Fire District was called into action at 8:39 AM and was soon on scene at 16280 Pudding River Road.

The first arriving firefighters found heavy fire coming from the front of the structure, according to Lt. Darin Unrein with Woodburn Fire. A transitional attack was used to begin extinguishing the fire from the exterior and work to the interior.

Pounds of Cocaine and Meth Seized Near Woodburn

OSP Traffic Stop Leads to Three Arrests, Seizure of 21 Kilos of Cocaine and 2 Pounds of Crystal Meth.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Suspects and drugs in seizure and arrest near Woodburn, Oregon, 10-19-07 Oregon State Police Drug Enforcement Section detectives are continuing an investigation following a Friday afternoon traffic stop on Interstate 5 in the Woodburn area and arrest of three men allegedly transporting 21 kilos of Cocaine and two pounds of crystal methamphetamine.

At approximately 3:09 PM Friday, two Oregon State Police troopers, one with a drug detection canine, were working traffic enforcement along Interstate 5 north of Salem when they both saw a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe sport utility vehicle with Washington license plates having difficulty maintaining a single lane of travel.

Woodburn Man Arrested in Stabbing

Jose Rodriguez-Cano was arrested for second-degree Assault and for a Parole Violation.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Police have arrested a man wanted in connection with a Woodburn stabbing that happened last Thursday night at 8:30 PM. 27-year old Jose Rodriguez-Cano was taken into custody by Woodburn Police.

Local news reports indicate that the stabbing outside of the A&J Market on Thursday was preceded by a large gathering and a fight involving other people. The market is located on Front Street in Woodburn.

Woodburn Police say they were called to Silverton Hospital shortly after 9:00 PM Sunday after two teenagers, 14 and 15 years old, were admitted with gunshot wounds.
