An ambulance arrived a few minutes later and I was transported to the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. (My out-of-pocket cost for this trip was $110 although I didn’t have to pay it until later.)

At the hospital a few hours later I had an MRI. I was in hospital for a total of five days. I did not have to pay anything for this—my out-of-pocket cost was $0. There was no deductible or co-pay. It’s called “universal health care”.

Failure of TrumpCare Incites Mixed Reactions

The Republican bill to repeal Obamacare has failed.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Paul Ryan House leaders cancelled today’s vote on the American Health Care Act, or “TrumpCare,” because the bill lacks the support to pass.

Oregon's Senator Jeff Merkley says now is the time to fix what's broken with ObamaCare. "Following today’s TrumpCare failure, it’s time for Republicans to cease and desist in their plans to destroy American health care. I’m happy to work with anyone, from either side of the aisle, to explore these or any other ideas that would improve health care for working Americans."

An OPEC Deal Extension Isn`t As Simple As It Sounds

According to Iraq, the agreed-upon cuts have been all about exports all along.

(LONDON) - OPEC: Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. It's been six months now that oil prices have been reacting to OPEC, first to the possibility of an agreement, and then to the production cut deal itself, forged by OPEC to rebalance the market.

The deal--initially aired as ‘an agreement to agree on a deal' in September and signed at the end of November—will likely impact the market for at least the next six months.

Gas Prices on Cruise Control, for Now

Oregon is one of 18 states to see prices increase in the last month.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon gas prices "The national average for regular unleaded holds steady at $2.29 a gallon, while Oregon’s average slips half a cent to $2.68," says AAA Oregon/Idaho Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds.

"Oregon drivers got socked with the second-largest monthly increase in the nation of 15 cents, as the switch to more expensive summer blend fuels has already taken place in the Pacific Northwest."
