Tow Truck Crashes After Losing Brakes on South Salem Hill

(SALEM) - The owner of a local towing company did something he thought he'd never do; he supervised the recovery of his tow truck following a crash that landed the truck near the bottom of a steep hill.

The incident began at about 11:52am, this morning when Mickey Henson, 51, of M & M Towing in Woodburn was called to the scene of an earlier crash to help with the removal of a large truck trailer.

The driver was cited for violating the road use limits.

(SALEM) - Marion County Sheriff's Deputies are diverting traffic around the intersection of River Road South and Orville Road South due to a truck crash that is blocking River Road at the railroad crossing.

Deputies were called to the scene at 8:53 a.m.

The pedestrian was deceased at the scene.

(SALEM) - Police responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle crash at 7:11 p.m. Monday, in the 2500 block of Lancaster Dr NE.

Officers determined the crash involved a single motor vehicle and a pedestrian.

Salem Teen Victim of Hit and Run Driver

Witnesses described the truck as a 1980's model Ford F150. Different witnesses described the color as light brown, tan or possibly rusty.

(SALEM) - Salem Police say a person was run over by a car during "some sort of altercation" at the Lucky Fortune Lounge Thursday night.

Lt Dave Okada Tells us the altercation took place at 1401 Lancaster Dr NE. A witness to the violent act, Andrew Harrison of Salem, says it was "really crazy" and believes the suspect was extremely dangerous.

(SALEM) - Oregon DMV will accept applications for driver licenses, instruction permits and identification cards as of January 16 from Oregon residents approved for the federal “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” (DACA) program who have been issued immigration Form I-766.

DMV will accept a valid immigration Form I-766 as proof of lawful presence in the U.S., and the Oregon driver license or ID card’s expiration date will match the expiration date on the person’s Form I-766.

Preliminary Information: Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 214 North of Silverton

(SILVERTON, OR) - State Police troopers are investigating Friday afternoon's fatal traffic crash at the intersection of Highway 214 and Downs Road NE between Silverton and Mt. Angel.

Preliminary information indicates the crash occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. involving two vehicles resulted in the death of one person and injuries to a second person.
