Snow and Cold Aimed at the Northwest

The cold and snow may be enough to jump-start the ski season in the Cascades and also in the Canada Rockies.

(Image by KingWu, Photos.com) The coldest air of the season so far is forecast by AccuWeather.com to roll into the Northwest this weekend, and it will be accompanied by snow in some areas.

The storm track will shift farther south in the Pacific this weekend. As it does, colder air will drain southward from British Columbia into Washington, Oregon and the northern part of Great Basin and Rockies.

One-Year Old Being Pushed in Stroller Struck by Car, Dies from Injuries

Otherwise peaceful afternoon turns tragic in Newberg.

(NEWBERG, OR) - Death investigation At approximately 3:44 p.m. Monday, the Newberg-Dundee 911 Center received an emergency call reporting that a child in a stroller had been struck by a vehicle on 4th Street near South Meridian.

The one year old, male toddler, was being pushed in a stroller by his 13 year old cousin when he was struck by a 1991 Ford Taurus.

Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 18B near Sheridan

The driver was not using safety restraints.

(MCMINNVILLE, OR) - Salem-News.com Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into the cause of an early Saturday morning single vehicle fatal crash that resulted in the death of an adult female along Highway 18B near Sheridan.

The victim is 23-year old Candace M. Diaz of Sheridan.

Cycle Oregon has made buttons with Mark's photo on them available for volunteers and riders to wear during this year's ride.

(PORTLAND, OR) - Mark and other members of the Bosworth family With Cycle Oregon now underway in South Oregon, thoughts are turning to Mark Bosworth, the avid cyclist and longtime Cycle Oregon volunteer who disappeared during the event last year.

Mark, then 54 years old, went missing on the night of Friday, Sept. 16, near Riddle High School.

44 Cows Dead After Being Struck by Semi Trucks on Hwy 97

When you see an animal/wildlife near or on the roadway, reduce your speed and following distance and try to stay in your lane.

(MADRAS, OR) - Semi truck that hit dozens of cows Forty-four (44) cows died Thursday night after most were struck by five different commercial trucks along Highway 97 about 14 miles north of Madras. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are completing the investigation and no drivers were injured.

Most of the cattle were dead at the scene and any remaining injured cattle were put down by their owner. OSP and ODOT employees worked with R2 Ranch to remove the dead cattle from the highway.
