Preliminary Information: Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 214 North of Silverton

(SILVERTON, OR) - Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are starting the investigation into Friday afternoon's fatal traffic crash near Silverton.
It happened at the intersection of Highway 214 and Downs Road NE between Silverton and Mt. Angel.
One lane is reported open while OSP investigates. Preliminary information indicates the crash occurred November 2, 2012 at approximately 2:30 p.m. involving two vehicles resulted in the death of one person and injuries to a second person.
The highway was blocked about 45 minutes before being open to one lane of travel. ODOT is on scene assisting with traffic control.
