Man Rescues His Wife During River Mishap (PHOTOS)

A story about a man's desperate and successful struggle to save his wife from drowning.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Rafts in Clackamas River inciden during which husband saved wife's life 7-27-09 Tragedy was averted Sunday by the persistent and heroic efforts of a husband who dislodged his submerged wife from the ominous grip of the Clackamas River, and revived her lifeless body by administering life-saving CPR.

The Clackamas County Dispatch received a report Sunday of a female subject that was initially submerged in the water, retrieved from the water and then revived.

18-Year Old Male Pulled from the Molalla River and Airlifted to OHSU

The victim was airlifted by Lifeflight to OHSU. He was listed as serious but stable by Paramedics.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Oregon river Canby Fire was dispatched to an unknown medical incident on S. Railroad, in the City of Barlow, today at approximately 3:39 p.m.

Information given to rescuers enroute advised that an 18-year old male had been pulled from the Molalla River, and was being transported via ATV to the listed address, which was approximately 1/4 mile from where the situation occurred, according to Canby Fire Spokesman Troy Buzalski.

Tours of Archaeological Site Offered at Champoeg

The archaeological project is part of continuing research into early pioneer settlement at Champoeg.

(CHAMPOEG, Ore.) - Champoeg State Heritage Area in Oregon The Champoeg State Heritage Area will offer special 'Oregon 150' archaeological tours during July beginning Friday, July 10th.

Mike Niss with the Champoeg State Heritage Site, says the tours will allow visitors to observe an archaeological dig by Oregon State University summer field school students under the direction of Dr. David Brauner, an anthropology professor at OSU.

Mount Hood`s Dangerous Awe-Inspiring Beauty

High altitude affects you in many ways. By the second break we are at 10,100 feet and I care less and less. I wonder, “What have I done?”

(SALEM, Ore.) - Mount Hood, Oregon ascent The Snow Cat spins 180 degrees and backs up about 30 feet. The ramp is lowered and the driver opens our door. Six climbers and two guides exit, one guide scrapes the snow with his toe and says, “crampon’s for sure”.

Without hesitation, we all turn our head lamps and strap crampon’s onto our mountaineering boots. Its 12:25 Father’s Day morning 2009.

(JEFFERSON, Ore.) - Santiam River The previously reported blockage across the main channel of the North Santiam River near Jefferson has been cleared. The Oregon Marine Board reports that a large cottonwood tree was removed to the shore on June 25th.
