Trials of persons who claimed to be witches simply confirmed that they possessed what they always claimed they had, power.

Montague Summers who wrote the Introductions to the MALLEUS MALEFICARUM, spoke of witches as late as the 1920s as if they truly existed, nor have I read anywhere that the Church has reversed its position on the matter. Summers also defended the Inquisition's methods as necessary to keep the Catholic flock under control.

Many Evangelists claim their followers alone are real-Christians, and that “intelligent people” who question what they say is the word of God, “are evil." They use politics to achieve their end by appealing to the Religious Right of the Republican Party’s base composed of Conservative die-hard traditionalists.

Real? Not real? At the common level, even today, the elements of presumed witchcraft are fear of the unknown, belief in supernatural powers, and a tendency to symbolize so as to give substance and identity to intangibles.

Hauntings Include Restless Ghosts, Chilling Sounds and Vampires

(SALEM, Ore.) - LaLaurie House. Photo by Schellene Clendenin  In a city that attracts crowds for Mardi Gras celebrations and blues festivals, beautiful architecture and fine cuisine, New Orleans is, in some circles, even more famous for its established inhabitants.

It's a shame they're all dead.

Many bars and shops boast of their ghostly inhabitants. Even La Petite Theatre du Vieux Carre is known for strange happenings and the eerie ghost Caroline. Reports say that Caroline was an actress at the theatre in the 1920s.

Vietnamese Government Confirms UFO Explosion (VIDEO)

UFO debris rains down over Phu Quoc Island coastline.

(KIEN GIANG, Vietnam) - Piece of wreckage from the UFO in Vietnam An unidentified flying object exploded at about 10:00 AM on May 27th over the northern part of Phu Quoc Island, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

This is a region off the coast of the southern province of Kien Giang. Col. Nguyen Van Qui, military chief of the island district, reported the explosion and consequent discovery of debris.

Blue Ghost Recorded on Ohio Gas Station Camera (Video)

The owner told Salem-News that this isn't the first time he has been witness to something that defied explanation.

(PARMA, Ohio) - Gas station ghost Could an Ohio gas station be built atop an old Indian burial ground? That's what one man says in Parma, Ohio, an incorporated city southwest of Cleveland, where a gas station owner caught something he wasn't at all trying for.

A security camera caught a blue ghost on video, and it seems to be in no apparent hurry; the recording lasted half an hour.
