Oregon State Pitcher Andrew Moore Earns Invite To USA Camp

He will compete for one of 24 spots on Team USA’s roster.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State University Oregon State right-handed pitcher Andrew Moore has earned an invitation to compete for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team via its training camp later this month.

Moore finished the 2014 season with a 6-5 record and 2.77 earned run average in 16 games, 14 of which were starts.

Oregon State Top Honors Go to Cooks, Conforto, and Gardiner

The women’s basketball team won Female Team of the Year for the first time in the history of the award.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State University Brandin Cooks, Michael Conforto and Madeline Gardiner took top honors at the 16th annual Bennys Tuesday night at Gill Coliseum.

Cooks and Conforto shared the Male Athlete of the Year honor. Cooks was a consensus All-American wide receiver for the Beavers last season and earned the prestigious Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver. Conforto earned Pac-12 Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season.

Oregon State OF Conforto Named Golden Spikes Award Finalist

Michael Conforto takes the honor after being named the Pac-12 Conference Player of the Year – for the second consecutive season.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State University Oregon State outfielder Michael Conforto is one of three finalists for the 2014 Golden Spikes Award, USA Baseball announced on Tuesday via GoldenSpikes.com.

Conforto is a finalist after being named one of 21 semifinalists in late May. He’s joined by LSU pitcher Aaron Nola and Kentucky infielder/pitcher A.J. Reed. All three received the most votes from the Golden Spikes Award voting committee.

New York Yankee Jacoby Ellsbury Commits 1 Million to Oregon State

“We are tremendously thankful,” said Pat Casey, who is in his 20th year as OSU’s head coach.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - OSU sports Jacoby Ellsbury, centerfielder for the New York Yankees and former student-athlete at Oregon State University, has committed $1 million to help the OSU baseball program expand its locker room facilities.

Goss Stadium, which has stood on the Oregon State campus since 1907, is the oldest continuous ballpark in the nation, and has been home to the Beavers since the program’s first pitch more than 100 years ago.

UC Irvine Knocks #1 Oregon State Out of NCAA Playoffs

OSU’s Jake Thompson gave up three runs in 5 1/3 innings in his first start since April 1 at Portland and took the loss.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon sports Oregon State’s bid to advance to the NCAA Super Regional fell just short on Monday night as the Beavers lost 4-2 to UC Irvine at Goss Stadium in the championship game of the Corvallis Regional.


The Beavers (45-14) fell one win short of hosting a Super Regional matchup against Oklahoma State. Instead the Anteaters (38-23) will head to Stillwater, Okla., this weekend for their first Sweet 16 appearance since 2011.

Oregon State Softball Adds Two

Miller and Manewa join an Oregon State squad that will feature a 2014 recruiting class that was ranked third in the nation by StudentSports.com.

(CORVALLIS, Ore) - Pitcher Beverly Miller and infielder Mikela Manewa will join the Oregon State softball team for the 2015 season, head coach Laura Berg announced on Monday.

A native of Portland, Ore., Miller has spent the last two seasons at Monterrey Peninsula College in California. She earned First Team All-Conference and Northern California Pitcher of the Year honors for the 2014 season, after posting a 2.09 ERA with 151 strikeouts.

Oregon State Blanks U-C Irvine; Championship Game Monday Night

Monday’s championship game is set for 8:05 p.m. and will be televised by ESPNU.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State University Senior Scott Schultz pitched a complete game two-hitter and Oregon State advanced to the championship game of the Corvallis Regional on Sunday with a 4-0 victory over UC Irvine before a sellout crowd at Goss Stadium.

Schultz (7-2) struck out four, walked two and retired 18 of the last 20 hitters he faced to give the Beavers (45-13) a sweep of two Sunday elimination games.

The top-seeded Beavers (43-13) will face UNLV (36-24) at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in an elimination game;

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Oregon State University UC Irvine sophomore lefty Elliot Surrey pitched seven shutout innings and the Anteaters took control of the Corvallis Region with a 14-2 victory over Oregon State on Saturday night in a second-round game at Goss Stadium.

Surrey allowed three hits, struck out eight and did not allow an OSU runner to reach third base before being lifted with after the first two batters reached safely in the eighth.

Oregon State Baseball Trio Earn All-American Honors

Tickets for the Corvallis Regional are sold out. However, any tickets returned by participating teams will be made available on a single-game basis each day.

(TUCSON, Ariz) - Michael Conforto has been making history since he stepped on the Oregon State campus prior to the 2012 season. On Thursday, he made another dent in the record books.

The Oregon State junior became the first Beaver to earn All-American honors in three different seasons when Collegiate Baseball named him to its first team. Joining him on the first team are left-handed pitchers Ben Wetzler and Jace Fry.
